Depends,

Do you want them to sit flush with the wheel lip or recessed?
Also how much do you care about ride quality?

215/40 is going to be a little stretched.

Either one is going to ride rough so im guessing you just want them for looks.

I'd prefer best comfort possible, understanding that it won't be great. So comfort over looks (recessed or not).

I've ran both 215/40 and 225/35 in the past and they were basically the same from what I remember.

Just wanted to get others opinion.

215/40 looks to be the less expensive route as size is relatively more popular.

I have run both and cannot say one rode much better than the other - I know you are getting the wheels of your dreams and they are 18's but I wouldn't suggest 18's on an 850.

225 35 is smaller overall height by 7mm, so they will be harsher but 225 35 fits VERY well on 850's with the smaller wheel wells... pics to come of 18" x 7.5" on 225 35 18 tires

Thanks for the info.

I ran 18" pegs for close to 5 years so I know the challenges with 18" wheels and 850s.

What type of springs are you on? I saw that you have rolled fenders. Do you have spacers also?

Right and heavy 18s will ride different than lightweight 18s - I couldnt believe the difference in feel with 18" pegs and 18" tritons and the oz's I still have on there now

Koni yellow/ipd blue 15mm in rear and 5mm in front wheels are et40 i think

I think the new ones are 10lbs lighter per wheel. Interested to see how the change in rotational weight feels.

I think I'm going to do the same spaced set up also and have my fenders rolled.

Going to try and fit 215/40s under there.
