There was a Chevy SS that beat me by a few feet at a red light at 70 mph. I looked at the specs of the Chevy SS, it's a 6.2L V8 with 415 HP at 5900 rpms 6 spd automatic. I don't know how hard he was stepping on it but He only got ahead of me by a few feet and he was for sure trying to win. This Volvo is fast. I don't want to hear anything about safety. My car is stock and does not roast the tires at launch. This is Yakima and most people race at red lights. I'm safe and I'm not being reckless. I take off at the red and then slow it down after I'm clearly the winner in acceleration. I like to look at the grille of the car as I pull away from them so I can see which car or truck I beat. I have how ever been pulled over for speeding now twice. VW is my reasoning, They drive so fricking slow. Sometimes they drive 10 mph under the speed limit and it makes me want to take off in the coupe. It's not at all Road Rage or me getting angry. I'm just having sober fun with my car. I haven't received and tickets yet. The po po see my bad history with police when they pull me over, then when They see I'm getting my life together with a license and insurance and no convictions in at least 5 or 6 years I think they let me go. I tell them the truth that I was driving like an asshole and having too much fun. Maybe they see that and let me go? Is it me being reckless in my car on country roads? My horrid spelling/punctuation? My only being into cars/owning a car for 6 months. Ignorance? I'm not entirely sure what you expected the forum's response was going to be when you made a post about street racing at every red light? The level of butt hurt after two posts that weren't even insulting is tremendous though. I'd love to see how off the rails you'd go if someone said something that was actually mean. As much as I'd love to just throw on a breather, some wider turbo tubes, ECU, I want to learn why they make the car faster first. I don't have anyone to teach me. I literally started from 0 knowledge on cars months ago. The car is fast to me. I used to drive/live in my little 82' Honda civic 5 speed in Everett. So when I bought the Volvo after 10 years of no driving, it was a HUGE difference in speed and power. It's fun as hell for me to drive and believe me or not people have a hard time keeping up stock for stock in even new $40000 cars. Since a few of you like gatekeeping so much. I'll just push by you making my noob content as I please. Hey gatekeepers, maybe its you who drives people away from the forum? Is this why you stay in your little corners of the forum only appearing for moments like this one? When my car is eventually "Fast" I'll guarantee you one thing.
