Applefritter
Added an OEM hitch to the XC60. Had a hard time finding other posts about the process, so figured I’d share my scrappy process.
Applefritter
Adding photos is moving quite slowly, but this gives an idea. Main motive in using OEM was keeping the hitch high, even though I knew it would require at least some cutting of the bumper. Had to cut more than I thought, but it could have been worse. Not the best work in the world, but not the worst I’ve seen, and i sort of made it up as I didn’t have a template like the dealerships use. If you buy the OEM hitch new, it may come with a template (bought mine used) OEM wiring seemed steep in price compared to eTrailer/other options. Bought the “Tekonsha” harness and powered it from the existing “trailer lights” option in the rear fuse box. Not a professional job by any stretch, but it works. Removing rear bumper isn’t too bad. 5 screws in each wheel well. 4 bolts under the bumper. Feels odd pulling it off (as though you are breaking it), but didn’t really have any problems. Disconnect the rear fog lights (and don’t do what I did and forget to connect them before putting the bumper back on). Hope this helps!
Applefritter
Again, not clean, and used JB weld to cover my bad solder job...which is weird I know. Ah well.
