:D

Got her plated this morning.

Just took it for its first tank of gas under my ownership.

Custom plate should be here in the coming weeks, but for now, endless summer since its already in the mid 90s here and it matches the color.

Tossing a UCF plate on the S70 with custom verbiage too since it looks like thats sticking around for a bit as well.

Ordered a few parts for it that should be here between now and next week.   Picking up load bars and a few other goodies this weekend from a local friend/member.

On the hunt for a driver door still, so if anyone finds one, and wants $100, ill gladly either drive to pick it up, or if you can get it on a pallet, pay to have it picked up and shipped to me.

Next on the list, an alignment!   She crooked af.

Not much to update.

Got the alignment done yesterday and shes sitting nice and straight.

Mom's in town and leaving this morning so she brought me in to work so I could stop rotating cars back and forth.  (Wagon was parked at work so id have 2 cars here everyday until I we got some time this weekend to have my fiancee take me up to work and bring it home).  This was the better idea because we have a OB appointment Saturday and this is really the only weekend ill have for the next idk how long to get the bulk of the work needed on the wagon done.

Secured a garage with power yesterday on the way home (Storage unit (10x10) went to $99, extra garage in the neighborhood (10x20) is $125) so ill be renting a steam cleaner with upholstery attachment to clean the misses car Saturday, and then pulling all the seats in the wagon to do the carpets.  Then ill start moving storage unit into garage because 2x space for $25 more makes sense to me, and its across the street vs down the road a few miles.

I am assuming I need to remove the battery in order to pull the seats without setting off the SRS light correct?   No VIDA/DICE unit yet in my inventory and itll be another Month I feel before that happens so I dont have a way to turn it off just yet.

Expect big updates this weekend/monday, picking up a bunch of parts, and removing the interior for a deep clean.
Then its on to actual oe+ or non Volvo modifications.

Saturday was the misses car - shampooed interior and washed the ext.

Sunday was for the boys.

Scrubbed the wagon inside and out, and gave it some polish love trying to get the scratches and paint transfers off before PDR.

Left is clean, Right is dirty for comparison on the back seats.

Going to start chasing down issues.

PS pump makes noise occasionally, slight whine that comes and goes.

No Auto Locking while driving - Heard for 04 it either had it (04.5) or it needs to be programmed by the dealer... yay.

Picked up a set of roof bars, XC grill, and fog light switch, this weekend so that stuff will go on shortly.
Need to plasti dip the hony comb on the grill, and get the rest of the fog light set up on hand and installed so I can make a trip to the dealer for programming.

Also ran the wiring and hooked up my dash cam from the s60.

Attempted to install the XC grill today, I got over the weekend, only to find it doesnt fit :(

Heres Version 2.

Going to go with a metal plate, powdercoated with the flag for the fairing.

Trying to do as much in house and myself as possible, so realistically everything except the actual powdercoating will be by my hand.   Never done 2 colors, so ill let someone I employ with actual experience do that part.

About to get a whole slew of work done to it Monday.

Until then, LED upgrades.

Bought some Sylvania bulbs off Amazon, they worked but stayed on while the car was running.......
Bought some .50cent LED china bulbs off Amazon..... They work perfectly and have 0 issues.  -.-

Well the $1800 ready to go Wagon is now the $4000 wagon after almost 2k in repairs yesterday.

Upon inspection it was found the subframe was pretty fucked.
So while having that replaced had everything else also done that it needed.

PCV
Timing belt kit with cam and crank seals
Subframe with all mounts
Fuel line cover
bunch of other stuff.

Drove home like a totally different car.  No more rough idle or wonky steering.
No more loud whine that the PO said was the steering pump (the idle pulley was on its way out).

Have a lead on a door or 2 up in GA, so having someone heading that way next month checking into them for me.
Im still on the hunt until I have one, and paying $100 + costs if you pull from a upull.   If you're not within a 6-8hr drive and can strap it to a pallet safely, ill arrange freight.
*I have experience safely strapping body panels to pallets so hit me up if you're on the fence and found a door lol*

Soooo today's been fun.

Drove 110~ miles to pull a door this morning.

Leaving a gas station after grabbing some food to kill time before they opened at 9am, the wagon started stumbling and died about 100ft down the road.

So I broke down, 3 miles from the junkyard -.-

So while I saved money by pulling a door, I now have an expensive fuel pump repair todo -.-

Locally fuel pump is 350-500 on its own.  Volvo one is 600.   So it's back at the shop it just left, for $550 to have the pump replaced since it's about my cost in just parts.

Gotta love AAA towing.  That $100/year membership is really paying off now...

117mile tow.

Will update tomorrow lmao.

Roof basket and awning came in today at least 🙄

Picked up some NLA OE+ parts at Volvo Ocala along the drive :3

Let's see if I can get them on the car before the baby gets here.

  • 3 weeks later...

This is kind of a bitter sweet post.

So the original idea behind this car was a family hauler.

Unfortunately on June 3rd we lost our little girl, just 2 weeks before her birth date.

After some deliberation and consideration we(i've) decided to keep the wagon, it was fairly heavily debated to just sell it and move on due to the amount of issues ive had with it and then putting this on top of it.

So im going to continue on the thread.

We took a 2 week trip north in it recently, and came across this at a church in the town we were staying in.
Thought it fitting to leave here.

========================================================================

So ill summarize the trip a bit.

But we took a drive up to Bryson City where our cabin was for a good week, and bounced around a bit before and after.
Staying in Macon, and Helen as well.

Hooked up the OEM Aux Lighting Kit (was actually super easy), literally the day we left town, so had some help tossing it on as fast as possible.

Our drive up was fairly uneventful, heard some noise at one point before we stopped in Macon, but driving was still fine so we continued on.  (Assuming this is where I lost my Ebrake)

Finished the drive to Bryson City the next day without issues, stopped at one of the smokey mountain visitor centers.

We ended up hitting the smokies and pushing through to pigeon forge, where I lost a caliper -.- Driver Rear Seized.

Got it replaced locally and back on the road the next day.   Decided to take the long way back instead of heading through the smokies again after loosing brakes on the rental car (I now know how to drive through mountains, because clearly I did not previously lol)

Ended up staying in Bryson City the last few nights before heading to Helen for a night and then home.

Enjoy some photos.

All in all, over the weekend found out the driver side ebrake shoes had seized and I basically drove on them the entire way at some point.

So i've got new rotors, shoes, kit, and a bunch of other stuff on their way.
