It's a northern car, and I havent taken it to the beach yet lol. Surprisingly, there's no rust underneath the car, so im at a loss. 3 hours ago, quiksilver said: I've never seen mounts that rusty before and I live in Canada... I've never seen rust on a car till now lol. Well thats not entirely true, never this much at least. Car itself is actually rust free from what I can see on a lift. But them strut mounts.... Yikes. RobT5M
Should probably update here. Finally checked the grom issue - Amp was unplugged I must have tucked it behind the cage when I was fishing wires through for the grom to get it out of the way and never plugged it back in, now all the speakers work again and everything is great. Replaced the driver Windshield Washer Nozzle The one I bought on rockauto sucks so ill be replacing that again shortly, this one basically mists. Swapped old premium speaker into the new door on the car, so nice having a working speaker again in the driver door. Removed 2 roof cross bars Removed 1 because I don't need 4 to hold a side canopy and roof basket. Removed forward one because im not running the side canopy 24/7 therefore it can go to get rid of the wind whistle. Put about 700 miles on it and some mileage on the new suspension doing a little off roading through the forest for thanksgiving getting out to the hunting cabin for dinner with the fam. Threw out the old Driver door finally lol Ah and on the door speaker, I replaced the rivets with screws/lockwashers/nuts because its easy to get to the back of them. RobT5M
New owner picking up the wagon today so this ends the Dad wagon saga. Little bit of a bitter sweet goodbye, obviously I lost my ass on the wagon with well over double what it sold for invested. Decided to heat gun the front and rear bumper trim Saturday, so I guess the last thing done. New owner is getting the wing and a few other parts including the fog light kit I had for it. The lingering reason why I originally bought it, and the fact that reason is no longer there, and being reminded by it daily, helped push it out the door for me. Definitely didnt realize how hard it was hitting me until after it left yesterday. At this stage/point in the wagons stay with me, ive invested more than I care to say anymore, both financially and mentally but mainly financially. The new owner got a mechanically sound vehicle, I got some cash which ill put towards the S70. Now I have a reliable brand new with a warranty, daily driver, so I can turn my full attention to the S70. For now though, im going to take a little break from wrenching, my wife has stated she would like to do absolutely nothing this weekend so we'll see how that goes. 10 hours ago, Zappo said: I'm hoping the need for the wagon will return in the future. Honestly we'll see, I do like the P3 XC70s / V90s. But for now, I have the Mazda as a daily, and the S70 to dump money into. 10 hours ago, mojojo said: Bitter sweet for sure.
