1998v70r1568908862 Posted April 20, 2021 Report Share Posted April 20, 2021 I have a 1998 V70R with a bad 2.3 turbo engine. I also have a 1998 V70 2.4 non turbo engine with low miles (75,000). My question....is it possible to swap the 2.3 with the 2.4 and put 2.3 parts.... turbo, etc on the 2.4 and be compatible? Any help appreciated much. andyb5 Posted April 20, 2021 Report Share Posted April 20, 2021 Putting the turbo parts on the non turbo engine won’t easily work. You’ll have to do a bunch of custom work to get it running properly. ChristiaanW200 Posted April 21, 2021 Report Share Posted April 21, 2021 swapping the externals is not a problem. drilling and tapping 2 holes for the turbo oil should do it. the internals however are not capable of anything serious. the compression is to high, so you'll run into knock, and the pistons and conrods cant handle it too. and a 83mm bore block is a poor choice for power. gdog Posted April 21, 2021 Report Share Posted April 21, 2021 ^^.. not to mention the NA does not have the sodium filled exhaust valves like the turbo engine. @andyb5 posted up a good place for recycled engines before; will see if I can find it. Where are you? Of course used engines are always a gamble. These white block engines are quite re-buildable (unless you threw a rod or something); what's wrong with yours?
