Estey_T5M
Good morning! What's everyones experience with taking a V70 R dash and putting it in a S70 GLT. I'm 99% sure it's a direct swat but more curious to know how the dash speaker works and if there is a direct plug in for that within the GLT model. Thanks! RobT5M
So the dash itself direct swaps. Sounds like you're more wanting the dash pad? (center speaker). The big issue with doing a whole dash swap is going to be the harness. 98 / 99-00 I cannot remember exactly but I think the center speaker just plugs into the back of the radio (need the 900 series radios I believe). If you are doing a whole dash swap, reinforce the tabs before you put the new one in.

That's correct - just looking to swap the top dash pad over and was wondering how to speaker connected or if it would at all.

Dash pads are a very easy swap. From what I remember, the center speaker has its own plug on the 900 series headunits, someone else may be able to provide more clarification, but I think the plug just basically goes straight down, around the vent of course. Great - thank you! I've taken the dashes on and off a few times, was mostly just wondering if the speaker would work so thank you for your help! bmdubya1198
Yup, the harness for the speaker just goes directly to the head unit. I believe it only connects to the SC-900/SC-901 head units. As far as harness changes, if you're sticking with the same year you should be fine. The air bag connector MIGHT be different year to year, but there is no other wiring on the upper dash.
RobT5M
I think where I got in trouble originally was I was putting a C70 dash in, and that has a totally different harness. 98-/-00/99 only have minimal changes for the s/v chassis but you'll still want to stay with the same year of course. Looking forward to seeing the progress and some photos once installed.
