Just had the update done, and it only took them about 30 minutes including replacing the light switch and washing it.

It's more peppy, no odd issues. So Far I am happy.

i'm going to get mine done on Tuesday just because. I have a 99 s70 t5 5 speed. 55k miles. No hesitation yet, but I have to replace the coil packs. All I wana know is if I ever have to purchase a new etm because they won't replace it till its flat broke in the future, will it be a better etm than I currently have? By thy way this car is alot fun to drive but no where near as reliable as any of my other cars i've ever owned, all japanese. I've had about 6 cars so far. Just saying... shame on volvo.... but I'm gona put up with it because somehow I just really like this car... damn myself.

just had the reflash done today and there is a difference in the throttle response, I know this because I have a stick, and I had my shifting rythm down so well I could shift so smooth, now I'm applying too much throttle all the time, and the second big thing, is the engine doesn't shake the car when you turn it off anymore.

I had the etm software done, and the car shifted much better, than I had a ST ECU upgrade, and the car doesn't shift as smooth, and the gas milage sucks, wondering if the etmupdated software was erased ? Changed the fluids, and everything else was okay.

Just had ETM update performed, not much difference in throttle response. At least they washed my car and gave me a cup of coffee

My wife told me that the heater wasn't working and that the engine temp wasn't getting warm. It was idling poorly too. We had the 155 upgrade done, and not much changed. TOday i put in a new thermostat and plugs, air filters. It warms up just fine, and idled alot better. But after driving about 5 miles, it the rpm would drop really low momentarily when coming to a stop. Then about 5 miles further it would actually die. Then the idle would fluctuate from 900 down to about 400, pretty evenly. Sometimes it would actually die.

Problem is, I don't know if it was due to the upgrade or something else. Especially since they did the upgrade before the thermostat change....which shouldn't matter...but????? So do I clan the MAF ??? O2 sensor? Any ideas?

Its a 2000 v70 non turbo, nothing out of stock.

thanks

Hi guys,

I did the ETM software upgrade two weeks ago. Right after that I found this symptom: if the car is parked for a while then in the first 200 yards it will lose accellation momentarily. After that the car is fine. D you guys notice the same thing ?

I had the update performed about 3 months ago and this past week it went bad again. Volvo replaced the entire ETM for free and put the updated software on and it is alot smoother, but it does seem like my boost isnt coming on as strong anymore.

Had it, along with the canned Tranny software upgrade, done a few weeks ago. It does seem to run a bit better and doesnt seem to hunt for a gear near as much.

But they let me know of the countless items that need to be addressed on the car. This is worn. That is old. Blah, blah, blah.
