2004 Volvo s60r build ideas

Anyone got any ideas on how to make some nice hp on my 04 s60r. Got the car a little while ago and want to make it a little quicker. Not really experienced with cars so some info would be nice on how to get it making good hp❤️

It really depends what your goals are and what you want to spend.

-Get a stage 1 tune from hilton tuning

-d088 intercooler is always a nice upgrade

-downpipe/exhaust and stage 2 software

the weak spot in these motors is the cylinder sleeves so beyond that i would consider shimming the block at minimum. you could do a hybrid turbo upgrade or you could go forged internals, darton sleeves, big turbo.. skys the limit really

This is all solid advice. These cars can make pretty good power, but you'll have to be careful if you go beyond the basics. It's better to tear down the engine to make these improvement because you're building the car, not because you already cracked the block and need to replace the engine.

My old 2.4t low pressure engine made about 350 fwhp with a rebuilt hybrid k24, r manifold, green injectors and intercooler + large piping. That engine was unopened and is considered the weakest of the b5 family. So just shim the block and raise the boost. Just make sure the mixture is kept pretty rich
