Burn-E
All right who can tell me where this piece is supposed to go? I pulled the original door panel off because the card had badly delaminated such that the foam beneath was popping out at the top. Found a pick n pull card in 3960 in a car that went through the warranty replacement back in the day - cheaper to replace the panel then cost for my time to resurface all 4 cards. Long story short, when I pulled the panel this piece fell out. It has the green glue on the back, same as each of the black supports that hold the pressure connectors, several of which I had to reglue to the panel. So it must have been glued on, but there are only 2 evident possible locations and unsure of orientation. First 2 photos are the piece, last 2 are the locations where there’s green glue remnants. My guess is it goes in the 4th photo. I have pulled door panels previously and never encountered this. Is it just a stray piece that dropped in during assembly in the factory? bmdubya1198
That's funny, I have a stray one of those lying around from when I've replaced door cards on these cars, and I've never been able to find there that piece goes. I'm interested to see if anybody knows. It doesn't look like there's any sort of clip that it slides into on the door.
Burn-E
I’m pretty certain it’s the piece that Kirill referenced in his additional tips that adds support to keep the panel in place at the edge of the door but his photo is gone. https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/additional-info-on-door-panel-removal.22722/

I just wish that picture was still there!

Goupil
I've had one of those in my glovebox for a while, also dropped from the doorcard when I pulled it and couldnt find where it goes
Blockpartie
I can confirm this piece is the one referenced by Kirill in the Swedespeed post. It is used to sort of align the door card relative to the door frame / window frame area. The locator exist on all four door panels (for S70 / V70 / V70XC) and is installed with the pointy bit towards the front of the vehicle. That means the square end is always facing the back of the vehicle. I've taken the liberty of using your picture and drawing onto it: From this video I have taken a still that shows the matching area in the metal of the door: www.youtube.com/watch?v=s349lXHPqT4 I believe you can identify which side the locator belongs to by the colour. On the drivers side it's white/yellow-ish and on the passenger side it's black. Orientation statement is only correct for LHD vehicles, for RHD it's obviously the other way round.
