Psyckosama
Doing repairs on my mom's '04 S80. Replacing the blower, resistor, and cabin air filter (because might as well while I'm down there) because the fan doesn't fan. Get the plug pulled from the resistor to the cabin and it's burned out. Still replacing the other parts because, eh, have the parts and if the plug shorted resistor's probably bad and at that point might as well refresh the motor because it's coming out anyways. I need a parts code, parts name, link to purchase, or some form of identification so I can buy a new one of this.
Psyckosama
Found an image of the plug itself. Not mine, but same problem.

Rstein
Installed VIDA 2012D in a Win7 VM but of course I need a VIN and stuff like that to even look up parts diagrams. Thanks for nothing, VCC.
Psyckosama
Thank you for the effort. Just ended up going to a salvage yard and salvaged a couple plugs from some junkers.
gmsgltr
this is so VERY common on these haha, i only found this out recently - in fact I just replaced the resistor and blower fan in my 2014 xc90 last week! i knocked some of the junk off the contacts and put it all back together and it works great
Psyckosama
On mine the plug basically had partially melted from the short. Eh, was able to cut the plug off an S60 and an S80 that were sitting in a lot, and get an extra mirror, and get a matching replacement for a broken vent so it wasn't a loss. Too bad the wheels didn't match. BTW: These things are awesome. Better than crimp connectors, and easier than soldering. You just splice the wire, stick them on, and blast it with a heat gun until the silver ring flows. https://www.amazon.com/Kuject-Connectors-Waterproof-Electrical-Automotive/dp/B073RMRCC3/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=shrink+connector&qid=1661746208&sr=8-
