Its like both my parents were so stupid that they decided to get together and make a baby and I got twice the stupid genes. Its a wonder how I manage to cross the street everyday without getting myself dispatched. God I get so mad sometimes bc my parents wouldnt sign that waiver to put me in the special class... You should have read the Windows Server System Reference Architecture solution for web hosting. Properly managed Windows datacenters have much better uptime than Linux or Solaris. Windows has the majority of enterprise market share where 4-5 9's availability is a necessity (banks, multinationals, etc.) and they install failovers and patch their machines in a timely manner, they are just late in marketing to less TCO aware, TCA-focused ISPs. My group at MS does provide the knowledge base articles and automation components for enterprise patch management, security, reference architecture and deployment, so we have a lot of this data.
