Lol hey man they're comfy as hell casual dressyish shoes that breath well and work with shorts.
I have a pair of like black beater puma's with their dr scholl knock off sole I wear when I know ill be walking through like dirt and stuff (especially this year since we're about to close on a 2nd house, so walking 2 new builds this year was not great for a white pair of adidas gym shoes I was wearing).
And then some sandals to take the trash out or go to the beach or kayak in.

I need to figure out a new pair of short distance hiking shoes for next years smokies trip if anyone has recommendations, think we're going to start going in October vs Jan-March, so should miss the snow.

Salomon X-Ultra 4 Mids have been great for the hikes I’ve done around here in NY. They’re goretex (waterproof) and super comfortable for my foot.

Just saying, they’re the perfect balance of formal and casual to wear with a button down and jeans in the office. Even better for when I’m flying because they’re so comfortable.

I will give these a look as well, the last couple of treks one of the trails we frequent has slowly started eroding away from the river flowing next to it, so plenty of wet spots now.

+1 on anything GoreTex and Salomon, had multiple pairs over the years and they're great through all seasons including Canadian winters.

The Danner is the 'buy it for life' sort of option but if you want to invest you can't go wrong.
