Help with B5254t mods

Hi, I’m pretty new to the Volvo scene, and it’s been really hard for me to find info on any kind of mods or anything in particular with my car, I’m an owner of a 99 Volvo c70 2.4l 5 cyl, it’s the convertible, not the coupe:(

I was wondering where to start and how high I can take the performance on it, it’s a b5254t engine, am I able to throw a bigger turbo on it? And what kind of hp can I get out of it before I crack the block?

I think the 99 C70 used the ME7 ecu which would mean any mods you make would need to be mapped in by someone (whereas the older ecu M4.4 you can modify yourself)

For mods you can put a bigger turbo on, bigger injectors, intercooler upgrade.  The problem being the compression ratio of the LPT B5254T engine is higher than the HPT 2.3 engine which limits the amount you can push it a bit.

Ya I saw that the Lpt has a higher compression ratio, so I was thinking beefing up the internals a little bit(if I have to) but honestly I’m not trying to push it too far just want a little more get up and go out it, try and get it to the 200 hp range, maybe 300 hp range if I’m lucky.

(if I can get to the 400 hp range without cracking the block, that would be even better, the problem though is there’s not much info on them, at least what I’ve tried to find)

Slap a manual boost controller, a K24 or 19t on it, 3" down pipe, reverse intercooler piping, and go to town. 

You could do a 18t if budget is tight. 

 

If budget is really tight, you could drop a 15G or 16T out of a 850/x70 t5 on it and get a bit more vs your 13t turbo.
