Hood Open Warning - But It's Not (2009 V70 3.2l)

Hi. 

I started a thread on this topic two years ago, but never hot time to resolve the issue.

Hood open warning on 100% of the time.

Ok, so accordong to all the info I can find, the sensor/switch is on the driver's (left) side. But no - it is on the right side. I've seen threads where both are firmly attested to. Yikes.

And a helpfull video shows the wires exiting the left latch right above the rad. Right. On my car you cant slide a piece of paper in there, let alone see anything.

Today I removed the left headlamp assembly and poked around. Right between the lamp space and the hood latch there is a black plastic cover about the size of your hand. I got that out of the way and (hopefully) looked inside. No wires I could see or touch.

So ... either it is either on the left and I can't see or feel what I am looking for, or the dang sensor is on the right side.

So - attack the right side?

Solved.

Removed passenger side head lamp assembly and there was a two-wire lead reaching in (forwards) towards the hidden hood latch. I scratched about an inch off both wires and twisted them together. No smoke came out and the warning is gone.
