Grant on gun control

here is one for ya Grant.

In the late 60's and into the 70's there was a higher number of abortions. Now in the late 80's and into the 90's there was an overall decrease in the level of crime(s).  Could it be argueed that the increased number of abortions lead to the decrease in crime?

But I do agree the retreat rule is BS.

I was 13 and someone broke into my house while I was home ( on crutches after surgery) one walked into my room with a knife the other a bar, I had my shotgun and was behind my bed.  Not much was said by the deputies who responded nor the "DA".

Did you shoot him? Shti, i would be constantly montioring every noise if someone ever brok into my crib.

I did what I needed to. Would I do it again? YES in a heart beat. I think it upset my parents more than it upset me. Things were real different in school too after that. I still think about those two guys and all the mess they made to this day when ever I hear someone talk about stuff like this..........

Do I get special treatment in the eyes of the law cause Im fat and lazy so running away is NOT an option? ;)

Generally, from what Ive seen/heard if you DO pull your weapon and the other person turns tale and runs your absolute best decision is to contact law enforcement asap. First on the record about the issue is the best to be.

Course, I do live in the PRK. Man I need a CCW.

i'm the kind of person that reacts without thinking when I am in danger, so I would just shoot without second guessing, esp if it's a knife or bat or something that can present deadly force....I know the laws state that you have to try and retreat or wait till you get hit or whatever, but if I had a gun, I would pull and shoot....i'm sure most people with guns would do the same, especially in an area like the one USC is in....but that's just me, and I don't pack...I do, however, have really bony fists and I wear Nike's.

Been mugged twice, weapon cleared leather neither time. Everyone knows the magic number 18. 18 feet is how much dictance you need to even think about drawing. If you try to draw at 18 feet or less your gonna die. Its really simple. Even a sub 2 second draw is not going to save you. So your better of running, or complying. Now as your running I would be pulling my strap, but its sucide to try to out draw a bat or knife. You carry a firearm Pras?

This is very interesting for me, coming from somewhere where we cannot defend our property if broken into.

Hell, you even so much as punch someone who is on your property with intent to commit a crime and you'll be the one who's arrested.

Can you guys answer these questions...

1) You're in bed with your g/f or wife at night, you get up to take a leak, come back and there is some stranger in your room holding your g/f or wife down. What would you do?

2) You're in your house late at night and hear a noise downstairs, you go to investigate and find a well-built burglar in your kitchen holding a long handled knife who is advancing towards you and making threatening gestures. What would you do?

Take lots of training in your state by qualified firearms instructors and then make your decision on what you are going to live with.

Same as above.
