Bay13
It really is very scary, especially the new laws in FloridaAnd you are moving to Florida when?
Che'_Moderator
About the same. Most states have the castle laws. Pretty much anything goes in your house. And in none of the 50 states is it illegal to shoot someone assulting your wife/gf. LOL my problem is if look at him and think he is too big, he must be 300+ pounds. Bullets are slow to down something that big. You better just hope he watches a lot of movies and over reacts to being shot. Again not to go too far off subject, gunshots do very little damage unless well placed. And I dont buy that bigger caliper crap. I carry a 10mm with AP rounds. Its about the hottest auto load you can get. And 10mm is not an instand drop unless you hit the core. Even lungs and heart are not an instant drop. Heart takes upwards of 20 seconds before they drop. Thats a long time when your getting shot. As for 18 vs 21 we went to 18 after some of the people using car would clear leather everytime at 21. I know I know Rich. You still think CAR is crap but its fast from the draw. Even the smartasses never win at 18.

But when you're dealing with hundreds of lb\ft of energy, it tends to slap people down. I guarantee that the deer that I've shot haven't seen too many Hollywood movies, and a well placed shot will slap them straight to the ground, with no drama.I also question the reasoning behind carrying AP rounds for self defense, as a civilian.Hoorah for the 10mm though, I remember in the late 80s, it was all but dead, and here it's made quite a comeback. I can. Deer was probably hit with a rifle round. Thats a whole other beast. Also well placed shots in the real world are more luck then anything else. I have video of a guy who had the left side of hit heart torn out by a .40 and continued to fight for 20 seconds. I have other training videos or people hit 10-15 times and not even stagger. Yes its rare but it does happen. 10mm is a great round. I just wish it was not associated with Glock now Glocks are not weapons they are toys. More companies like Sig and HK need to chamber 10mm weapons.
Nebor
I'm not much of a Glock fan myself. I think my 220, 226, 228, 239 and 245 speak for my allegiance. While a rifle round tends to carry a bit more energy, a hot 10mm or .45 load can come close to those levels of energy.I guess my only question is, why are you concerned about shooting your coworkers? (The ones wearing armour?)

(The ones wearing armour?)←A hot 10mm is 700ft/lbA crap rifle load is 1600ft/lbThats not close in my mind. Thats like comparing an accident at 50mph to an accident at 100mph.I am not worried about co-workers. But out of the 20 people I interact with every day if 7 wear armor how many other people do you think do. It happens. And un-like LEO I can shoot through obstical legally. I carry two mags. One in the magwell is AP second is IQ rounds. Again though 20grain tungsten in 130 grains of lead is not over penetrating IMHO. Around 20" in ballastic gel. I mean, presumably a form of defence, but are they "at risk" enough to wear armour? The only people I know who wear armour are a couple of doorstaff for nighclubs and a police officer, both of which are reasonably "hi risk". merlin390
Grant I carry a 40cal Sig and 50 rounds. I dont wear body armor but in the area we live in my family is subject to be targeted by crime because of the business we have. The cops watch out for us when they can but they are not always around. I am not sure what Chuck does, he probably can not or will not tell. last week I had an instance where the fact I am armed might have saved my life. Guy at the gas station came at me with a knife he was a good 30 ft away walking toward me and all I had to do was pull my turn my side toward him and lift the arm that my pistol sits under (shoulder holster) and he calmly put the knife away and went back the way he came.
