I'm actually getting some springs (my stock ones are worn to shreds), so I need advice...I want the stiffest ride w/ the lowest drop I can get. Don't even mention KWs, I don't have $1600 for them. I'm broke. I've heard the progressive wound springs suck in turns b/c they let the car roll a good bit before they harden up. I wouldn't know from experience, so I'm asking u guys. Lemme know what u think, thanks!

Add Intrax too...they're purple...I have them, but haven't installed them yet...supposed 1.5" drop front and rear

I have no experience with lowering springs other than Eibach. Both my brother and friend have them installed in their 850Rs with Koni adjustables. They lower a decent amount, but nothing to extreme. They ride pretty nice, not too firm. I've never driven either car hard to test the suspension, so I cannot comment on how the Eibachs do in cornering.

Yeah thanks Kev...there's a bunch of springs I've never even heard of. Jamaica2G told me to go w/ linear springs, he said progressive roll too much before they harden up in turns. So I guess I want the lowest drop/stiffest spring made. I know B&G and Apex quote a 1.6" drop. Anything made for a 2" drop?

Okay I'm gonna have to recommend OMP springs based on the PERFECT drop that they give. I saw a fellow VSer's car on OMPs and I was absolutely stunned at the amount of drop there was. I'd say a good solid 2". I'm not sure how to get OMP springs but if anyone does please share as I'd like to know :)

I don't have any pics of his car to share, but if anyone else has pics of an 850 on OMPs please post 'em up

See, we are volvo owners, not Honda owners. We don't cut springs here. If i am wrong let me know. The Vogtland springs worked great on my ex-850. Gave me about 1-1.5" after settleing... Don't really remeber which one is was... great ride with them though... dialed in.... oh god i am rableing again.... i need to lower my c70... LOOK OVER THERE!

If the springs are linearly wound then there is no problem cutting them. If you cut progressively wound springs you screw them all up - ie Honda style.
