StickThatClutch Posted May 23, 2005 Report Share Posted May 23, 2005 So when I was at the fight last weekend the brought some celebrity to sing the national anthem like before every fight. Like custom everyone stands and usually dreads the formality. I always put my right hand over my heart and I noticed I was just about the only guy who did it (the ref in the ring was another and Don King was waving his little flags). Now I think if you're an American you should show respect when the anthem is being sung. However, I notice that almost no one does this (though most are good about removing hats). Baseball games seem to produce the most patriotic responses and boxing the worst. I figure in these post 9/11 days of flag waving more people would show a bit more respect for the anthem.
