S60 R Posted September 12, 2005 Report Share Posted September 12, 2005 as an american, I am tired of "us" being chastized for actions in foreign affairs. everyone wants our help, wants our money, wants us to police and feed everyone. and what do we get for it? people whining that we didnt do enough, didnt help "them", didnt do it the way they wanted it done. forget it! do it yourselves! we should close down NATO (which we created), close down the United Nations (which we also created). you guys figure it out. and I may be arrogant in saying this, but america has prospered and given more back to EVERY nation in less time than Rome or any other great civilization has. This is in terms of economic wealth, inventions and innovations. and Darn right we are going to fight to protect our sovreignty. Darn right we are going to help people that help us. Even if it is with oil or what not. any person would. protect our livelyhood and our way of life... I'll stop with that and end with something ghetto..... Sure on a literal level they don't represent all Canadians, but i think a large portion of our population doesn't like american culture, american tactics, americans bombing out soilders, their government, etc.I have yet to meet an American i don't like (individually), but on the whole, i really can't stand that culture of dominance and ignorance! I'm reading a Hitler biography right now, and the similaried between nazi imperialism and american imperialism are quite astonishing!←I never heard anything so asinine before..., you supposedly have this great sense of humor and like every American you met, but because you hate Fox News, and read one book, u compare the U.S. to nazis?!?!I never knew there was this hatred between Canadians and Americans. Thank you for pointing this out. Sad thing is, I'm sure we would all get along without talking about this...agreed, which is why for the most part i leave politics outside unless i know you well enough that i can feel i can speak my opinion around you and you not take direct offense, or make me out as an enemy because of it.but then again, when people come out and say things like below i can't stop myself from asking how many times they got hit with the stupid stick when they were younger.Let's just nuke Canda and then get their opinion.
