Howard Dean

On Dean: At least he stands for SOMETHING. My biggest issue with the Dems in the recent past is that they've been completley spineless. If they had put a guy like Lieberman up against Bush, I think Bush would have gone down pretty hard (despite the rednecks that would disqualify him by name) provided his party would back him up with something worthwhile to say. I don't think the Republicans have been going in the right direction either. The only pres canidate of their's I've liked in the recent past was McCain. Not only did he have the right stance on the issues, but he blew Bush out of the water intellectually. He has a history of getting things done, and he's someone whose leadership descisions I'd be inclined to have some faith in, even if I didn't agree 100% from where I was sitting. The same cannot be said of W, nor any of the wastes of hot air that the Dems have thrown at him

Illinois Senator Barack Obama recently said of Democrats, “We are trying to decide what our core values are.” What??? If you don't know by now what your values are it is because you never had any!!! As the leader of the Democrat party Howard Dean has allowed his party to go adrift and be led by far left extremists. Can anybody even name a popular position the Democrats are pushing for other than opposition against? These Dems have lost all advantages in federal government. They no longer have the hold on the Presidency, Senate, or Congress by majority. The Dems only savior are appointed liberal Judges who instead of following the Constitution, make law which they could never get voted in.

Lieberman sold out when he ran with Gore. He used to be a conservative Democrat who was anti-Hollywood and like an earlier Gore held a pro-life position. How quickly he changed his stripes to further his ambitions goes to showcase the lack there of his devotion to his personal core values too. Senator McCain has aligned himself with the left and Ted Kennedy too many times over the years. His candidacy was and would never be accepted by the Republican base in a national election.

Here is an article on Dean's effectiveness of fundraising:

http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/conte...36057_mz013.htm

"Dean wowed the faithful in '04 with his Web-based fund-raising magic. But major business donors still count, and in his new role as party honcho, the feisty doctor seems to be struggling to connect. After achieving money parity with the GOP in 2004, Democrats have fallen far behind. According to the Federal Election Commission, the DNC raised $14.1 million in the first quarter of 2005, vs. the Republican National Committee's $32.3 million. Dean drew about 20,000 new donors, while his rivals picked up 68,200. The bottom line: Republicans have $26.2 million in the bank vs. $7.2 million for the Dems."

Also please tell me what Dean stands for? It seems to change every day. Kinda like Kerry. You can't stand for something if you are believe in everything. This is why they are getting their butts handed to them constantly. People want a candidate that is close to their values, will make them feel safe and not appear like they are pandering to everybody. Dean and the Dems are pandering to every kook special interest group there is while blaming everything on the evil Republicans. Blaming the Republicans is getting old after about 30 years of doing it and pandering to a hodge podge of disjoint special interest groups is pissing off mainstream voters. Personally I really dislike Lying, Demagogery, and political 'elites' that think they are smarter than we are. Which is why I despise Teddy Kennedy and laugh my butt off at Dean.

Righton Starfish. You called it exactly right. You can add Bill Frist to that list as well. He just sold out his values to try and further his political career.

Whoa!!! Slow down there!!! Senator Frist never changed his position. Often times many media with an agenda have mis-stated his comments to fufill their personal agenda which is to slam conservatives and Republicans.

Frist is hlding onto a very honorable position. Here is what he said straight from Frist himself.

We need a "Rock On" emoticon.

Frist is another guy I'd be happy to vote for. The good ones never run, though.
