p3flyer Posted August 31, 2005 Report Share Posted August 31, 2005 Hi,I recently purchased a 2001 V70 from Toyota dealer; they gave me 60 days 2000 miles warranty on the drive train. At present time the car still falls into this time frame. Just few days ago I started getting Check Engine light along with displayed message “emission system service required”. In your opinion does emissions system falls under the drive train warranty or not. From my stand point of view it sure does, it is a subsystem of the engine system. StickThatClutch Posted August 31, 2005 Report Share Posted August 31, 2005 Emissions isn't part of the drivetrain. Generally, your emissions equpiment falls under a different warranty. The CEL you got probably isn't a huge deal. Get a code reader and you can wipe it yourself. It might be something so mundane as you didn't tighten your gas cap down properly.
