Not so I can hear it or any BS reason, but simply cuz I'm always working on it and tweaking things. Plus, how else could you see that cherry red glow when its nice and dark out after a nice spirited drive? I haven't had any temperature problems with it, and its not going to get but so much hotter than a 15g pushing 20psi.-Andy←They aren't talking about the turbo heat shield, they are talking about the sound insulation attached to the underside of the hood. I have had the exhaust glowing on cars with no hood insulation before and haven't had a paint issue. Now if the exhaust was much closer to the hood I could see where there would be a problem. I would recommend you keep your turbo heat shield on, as you have already heard.You may want to paint the underside of the hood for another reason...Volvo never finished painting under the insulation. If I remember correctly your car is white and the primer is greyish silver. The clips aren't that hard to remove just squeeze below the flat part and they will pull out. SH8KDWN Posted September 13, 2005 Report Share Posted September 13, 2005 I wish it were that easy on an S70. You can slip a screwdrived under the "T" and depress one side of the stem and pull down.
