mAydAy
My name is Andy, and I have a traction problem.Got in 4 runs at Richmond Dragway tonight, had a few problems hooking up.Best time was a 14.40@99.60, best trap was 100.18 with a 14.4660's were all aorund ~2.5, I was launching lightly and wasn't getting traction issues till ~30-35mph when I started to lean into it, tried all sorts of techniques and she still would like up the 205/50 Sumitomo HTR-Z's and smoke them (All sorts of pressures from 40psi down to 22psi), and was spinning all the way beyond the 1/8th. The brisk ~33* air temps were hepling out my IAT's but killin all traction chances. Had to lift on every run to try to regain traction around the 1/8th. 1996 850R: Run on Sunoco GT100, MBC at 22psi on a ported and polished 15g, 3" turbo to tail, BSR StageIII ecu and rising rate FPR, 205/50-16 Sumitomo HTR-Z (Now half is on my rocker panel....all the way to my rear wheel well is black with rubber....), Full interior and all of that good stuff, and ofcourse lots of smaller odds and ends done to it. Was losing some time by the end of the track since it was run with NO airdam or bumper cover. I could feel lift thats not experienced with the cover, so that was probably hurting my times and traction also. By the end of the track at 100mph it was getting almost floaty, and surely aero was suffering.60': 2.5618 (Best all night was a 2.4720)330': 6.43051/8 ET: 9.50621/8 MPH: 80.371/4 ET: 14.40101/4 MPH: 99.60Mid 13's should be here next year with a set of Hoosier DOT Drag Radials. Simply cutting 60's to a reasonable titime would put me in 13's, but cutting them then factoring it not lifting on throttle and being able to get on it earlier and I'm in there deep.BREAKAWAY ran a 14.5@96 last night also.
