Serge
Holy darn thats a good deal.I'm 17, and got my 850 from my mom, who had wanted to get rid of it for a couple years but waited until I got my license so I could have it and she could get a new car that she had been feeling the need for. People HATE me for it, but oh well. Gonna be a senior next year, and am working part time at Papa Ginos Why do people hate you for it? My parents gave me my 850... my sister got an S60 2.4T from my parents. My former best friend's parents bought her an '98 S70 GTL, then when it was in an accident (not her fault) they got her another S70.Anywho, I feel fortunate that my parents were kind enough to give me their 850.Oh, and 19. CCSF student transfering to USF to major in finance. Currently self-employed doing web development for random clients and retailing online. Guest UnsanePyro
People just hate that fact that I got a nice car for free from my parents. They dont get that its 9 years old, 175,000 miles, I just checked the KBB Private Party Value on it, and its just a hair over $3,000. Thats not much more then what some people are looking at spending on their cars, to get decent cars also. My family has been taking care of this car for years, and now I am, I pay gas, I pay repairs, I pay insurance. People seem to have a stick up their jerk about it though because they think I'm horribly spoiled. My parents motive for me getting the car wasnt because I got my license, but because my mom had the car for years, and wanted something new for a while. She held out though, and I recieved the car partially when I got my license, and she got herself her new car, a 2002 Toyota Solara which she loves, and I love the Volvo. Oh well, people don't get it, and the people that judge me based on my car aren't worth it.

beachnut
The age ranges of the poll are flawed. Which bracket does someone vote for if they're 21, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50 ??? Forgot to mention I sell real estate and have been married for 18 years - yea, before some of you were born ... but nobody better be callin' me "pops" , that's reserved for my 10 y.o. daughter and 4 y.o. son :P

V Tuning 850
Yeah I got my 850 from my mom. People hated me because I got a free car, didn't pau squat for it. Take it my school had a bunch of rich snobs but I wasn't one of them.Mom gave me the 850, she got a S80 instead. I payed for all my mods to my 850, just like I am to my S70.But a lot of students in my high school where low lives, that couldn't afford much, so they see you driving a nice car ask where you got it, you tell them. They get pissed.I was fine with it, let them be mad. Sometimes you gotta work for nice, things, sometimes you don't. Life isn't fair all the time. I got lucky. I was going to get an OLD Saab. But mom decided to sell it for the cash, and give me her old 850 instead.I was happy.

soap and bread
im suprised there r so many young people...i thought i was one of the few young guns here. but i was wrong. im a 17 year old junior in highschool. i live in a very wealthy area where kids drive mostly benz's and bimmers. but those kids get those cars from mommy and daddy which i think is bad parenting...but i dont hav kids yet so i dont hav much room to talk about that. anyways...my family is very well off finacially but i had to pay for my own car with my own money that i worked really hard for. thats awsome that u guys get cars passed down to u...u guys r lucky. thank your parents for passing down a car to u.
