zomaster
is there a different amount to compress the spring if you have shorter springs? i posted here and was wondering if that mattered in my f'd up install, or maybe i just had a bad set of seats, because im sure many of you here have a similar setup that hasn't failed as quickly as mine. zomaster
hey! i wasnt trying to be the didn't search guy but i didn't start a new topic as i thought my question fit in this thread (which i found by searching ). so yea, i still had some q's. to be more specific, what problems/situations will i notice/experience with 'older' control arm bushings? these and the strut mounts were the only? parts i didn't replace to the front suspension; the strut mounts looked ok and i didn't want to do the control arm bushing job because i'm waiting for slater's bushings for that but maybe i need to just replace them with the oem ones for now. again, much appreciation and thanks for advice and answers. prasamin
with the spring seats like that, the strut mounts have been taking a pounding...replace them also, or your struts will come through your hood one day.

Help! I tried to search for a thread on spring seats and couldn't locate one!!! Please help!!!
jens94850
My spring seats looked about the same as the first pics here after more than 280,000 miles. Stupidly, I replaced them with new Scantecs from FCPgroton (instead of the OEM they offer) and I can already tell they need replacement after less than 1500 miles. One is cracked and seperating already, the other just cracked. This is one place where saving a few bucks cn be pretty expensive.
