So high school sucked. got by with C's and D's. Never did homework, bombed tests all the time. But i never got in trouble or anything like that, jsut not motivated or anything.

Applied to 6 colleges all very very very easy schools in state to get into. got into none. Didnt fill out one college application, my mom did them for me cuz if it was up to me i wouldnt go to school. Scored 830 or so on teh SATS. Im in Community college now and find myself skipping class the second week of school to go home and go to work. Dont really do anything during class. math class im doing fine in, got a C on teh first test, English is fine, teacher hates me cuz i talk to much, botany is dumb as hell, most boring class, teacher plays a powerpoint everyday and i jsut sleep when she turns out teh lights or look at eurotuner magazine.

So im asking, what in the hell should i do. i dont wanna go to school anymore i know im jsut going to end up wasting my parents money and flunk out anyway or fail out. id rather just work during the day and maybe wokr some nights. My parents said if i drop out of school i get kicked out of the house. Never been a very good student, brother is pretty much a straight A student in college and never partys or anything, just reads and does investment stuff.

WTF should i do?

brian lost and confused teen.

i say either go to a tech school or get into a trade that you can make good money in.

I was the same way as you. i got through high school, but didnt like it. i knew there was no way i would get through college passing, and in 4 years.

so either spend the next 6 years partying it up and failing, or start a job that you make good money in for a while, then go back for school is my advise.

.....IM NOT JOINING THE ARMY!

Well now that you've thrown away your life, it's either that or digging holes.

I barely showed up in H.S., never turned in homework and still managed to get B's and C's and a 1400 SAT. I didn't think that kids could get much more braindead than my generation, but I guess I was wrong.

America is the land of opportunity. Kids all over the world would kill for the opportunities you have.

I say the Army. It pays OK (better than BK), and will give you some college ca$h for whenever you've grown up enough to use it.......

I floated through high school. I was always helping people with homework and stuff, but never really studied for tests. Never took the SAT, so no idea what my score would be like. I started community college also right after high school, but dropped out before finishing my first year. I worked various jobs but never making any real money from them.

I ended up working on a farm and finally started making money, mostly because I was working so much I didn't have time to spend it. :) There are some really crappy jobs I did there until I was finally properly motivated to go back to school. I still remember it also. I was supervising a crew, but working right along with them. I was on my hands and knees in the mud digging rotten bulbs out of the ground in the rain. I thought to myself, "Thats it, I am going back to school!"

I went back to CC, then transfered to a 4 year and finished up my BS. While in CC, I saw lots of people just like Brian. They would show up half the time, or sometimes they would come into class, but leave before it even started. It was an 8am class, and I would hear, "I'm not staying here, I am going hunting." or "I am going back home to bed." They would always say, "I am on the 3 year plan."

The moral of this is, if you aren't properly motivated for school, you just aren't going to try and you aren't going to do well at all. For some people, taking time off from school and working for a while helps them and when they return to school they do much better. However, since a lot of your friends are in school and doing well (they made it into a 4-year school, so they should be), dropping out of school for a while puts you behind them in life, if you know what I mean. Things for them will happen sooner than they will for you. The time off worked for me, but if I knew then what I know now, I would have stayed in college the first time and finished.

Actually that is what happend to me when I joined the military right after highschool, actually I joined up during my junior year as a delayed entry program. The military makes you realize how easy we have it as a civillian, makes you appreciate the stuff we all take for granted and motivates you to go to school and finish it. Hope this helps. God Bless. :)

haha wow you just described my life. Don't worry about pleasing other people. just do what you want. My mother insisted that i go to school and i hate it. Don't take crap from people that say you won't amount to anything if you don't go to college. It's not for everyone and there are a lot of successful people out there who didn't go.
