JHEIII874T5M
Truth of the matter... this thread really doesn't matter as there will be several other members who do google searches, word of mouth, any other form of advertising.I just don't get it... what is so hard about telling the truth? I'd rather look like a fool any day of the week than lie to a customer of mine.We all make mistakes, it is how we deal with them that determines who we really are. r850glt
I think Communication is key, People are reasonable for the most part, because we all have unplanned events in our lives. Any business owner should be prepared to have a back up communicator in case of such events, Clients feel that once they pay money, you must provide customer service until the transaction has been completed & warranty expires, regardless of who they are dealing with. I realize that most business owner cannot close shop for an extended period and remain profitable, hence there must be some balance to communicate with clients before the relationship is affected. It is easier and cheaper to keep an existing client than to lose to that client & possiblty several more to bad PR.My Condolences to Terry and his Family. Karlson
I can understand that Terry had family tradegy, but it is not that difficult to tell us a true about status of our order. We pay money for the items and we deserve to know whats going on and when it is possible to get our order shipped
J0E
I think the funniest aspect of this all is how people reacted towards me and called me a cookie when I laughed at the notion of "VMS" back when Rob's car wasn't too far from stock. I've been in this game long enough and I've seen a few too many "tuner" companies start up amongst many automotive circles. I know bullshit when I see it, and I called it on day one with "SvR", too. However, my most sincere condolences go out to you and your family, Terry.
550
Well, I hope this becomes a turning point in the vms history! As I have not personally dealt with them but a friend of mine has and he had nothing negative to say. Terry also you have my condolences as well.
madmac10
I just wanted to say that I ordered from VMS, and despite some hiccups in the process, Terry did his very best to make me a happy customer. He was in contact with me whenever I needed him, and he worked with me till everything was satisfactory.
850drag
My story is almost identical to yours, except I ordered mine on Dec. 5th and I still don't even have my kit yet He called me about two weeks ago to ask if I had received it yet. I'm like "duh what?" "Oh, well Aaron was getting pm's from one guy (me) and I was getting pm's from another guy (must've been you Tendency) ... the hoses finally arrived and I'll ship it out right away"Two weeks later and I'm still waiting Oh yeah, he told me they redesigned the top tube from a single tube to two tubes. I'm thinking "great ... no wonder it's taking so long, now it probably won't fit, and it's not what I thought I was getting".I'm ever so thrilled to hear about how your's doesn't fit.I am sorry that you feel this way.. and the fitment on the reverse intercooler kits are excellent.. they are alot better than the first design that was used on my car. Unfortunatly some of the companies we deal with also have problems when we place our orders which in turn back logs everything...and this is why we dont get our products in time.. 850drag
Ok guys... to put some of your worries to rest:1) I am working for vms and I am more than happy to answer any questions... if you dont want to call us just pm me.. I am usually on the forums more than Terry... so I am more than happy to help.2) Give Terry a break... If you even had one clue what he has gone through these past few months you would think twice about some of the things you are saying...... we are both working very hard to get everything so everyone is happy... Like any company that deals with other sources for products ... we have delays... there is no way around them... and we hate it when it happens because it makes us look bad. We are looking into other companies that can guarantee product by a certain time and so forth so we dont have these problems in the future. We are currently finishing up a motor and turbo etc for a customer .... and I am working my jerk off at 2 jobs so I can start designing the s40 sema car and my drag car with all vms products that will be in stock once done. Please if any of you have complaints about a product or anything please direct them toward us... (or just pm me) We are more than happy to help you in any way.and its easier for us to communicate over the phone instead of on forums all the time... beachnut
I am sorry that you feel this way.. and the fitment on the reverse ic kits are excellent.. they are alot better than the first design that was used on my car. Unfortunatly some of the companies we deal with also have problems when we place our orders which in turn back logs everything...and this is why we dont get our products in time.. - 1/11/06 Kit finally arrives. Looks good but I'm concerned about weld quality. Proceed to spend 2 hours attempting to fit top tubes. Finally PM Terry. Oh he says, I noticed *after* shipping that the upper tubes were measured incorrectly on my S70. Hmm I think, why wasn't this tested on at *least* one 850?! Terry agrees to replace upper tubes and hoses (clamps that were supplied with kit crushed tubes). Wait till you try to fit the lower IC to throttle body tube - it's ahh, an adventure - and I'm still not convinced mine will fit with out having to reroute the lower radiator hose. ... part of an email from Terry last weekPart of the problem that we have had is that we design them to fit the factory intercooler and some people that have the Atech intercooler are having problems because Atech does not have a specific location for where they put the inlet and the outlets on there intercooler. It's not a matter of the way I feel , it's a matter of another purchaser of the rip kit giving his impressions of it (quoted above). The way I felt was frustrated, but that's a moot point now since I cancelled the ordered. My frustration however would've been multiplied 100 times had I received the product and found out it really didn't fit well, especially after waiting so long to receive it. If you say it fits then great, maybe it does. I will wait though until several other people have installed it before I consider it again.
JUDGENINJA
I've noticed that the last entry to this thread was back in Jan 2006. I'm an international buyer, therefore exempt from a legal warranty.. etc...and are considering using them for some bits that I can't get in the UK.. So I'd like to hear from any one that has ordered recently. Has the customer service improved...? Are the parts arriving on time....?Personally I think this sort of thread is good for companies. Often people buy stuff and although they have issues, never give feedback to the company, often you don't want to offend but because most of the time it seems too much like hard work. VMS have seen the issues everyone has raised and I would hope that they have succeeded in improving every part of their business. I wish them every success in their development in a specialist area, which sometimes we (OK "I") take for granted. Please feel free to E-mail me if you do not wish to pass on your views here (my e-mail should be in my Signature if you can see it)

Mr. Norm
I have no axe to grind with the vendor at all, but........It is a FEDERAL felony to charge your credit card for merchandise prior to the merchandise being shipped, let alone b4 the merchandise is even in stock at the vendor. I would exercise extreme caution dealing with any such vendor.
freeskier8585
In terry's defense i bought a down pipe from him last summer, it was delayed yes, but i called and talk to him about it many times, and he called me when it shipped etc. I didnt think customer service was a big issue, in fact terry did an excelent job communicating, it was just that the product was about a week late.
