looking for one of the above. gotta be under $8k, and preferably have less than 150k. also, if anyone sees one at a dealer (not a volvo, but a used car place), lemme know.

also, i might be able to convince my folks to let me get one in oregon, california, or whatever the hell state is east of washington (i suck a geography).

i actually looked at that one a few days before the meet, and i drive by it almost every day. it has been there for a few months, has 175k, and a leaky head gasket. in other words, it is right towards the bottom of the list.

and its white. i dont want another white car. they get dirty too fast.

n00b question comin up!

i found what is stated to be a 97 850 T-5R in autotrader. i thought volvo only made the T-5R in 95. is that right? here is the page on autotrader

oh, wait...nevermind. duh. anyway, bump.

The reason it is called a T5-R on autotrader is because they call all Rs T5-Rs, at least for the 850s. Price doesn't look bad for the number of miles on it. In Bellevue also. If you want help checking it out, let me know and I will go with you.

yea, the only real problem i have is that it is red. statistically, red cars get pulled over more than any other color. plus, i dont really have the money yet. really kinda unfortunate that its gonna be a lump sum, as opposed to me having some now, and getting the rest later. i have been waitng on this money since the end of december. i gotta ask my dad if he will let me take money out of my bank account as kind of a down payment on it. also, it is kinda at the very top of my available car money. plus tax & lisencing, im lookin at at least $8000. and, thanks for the offer, zappo. i will almost definitely take you up on that.

now, see, heres how it is (1st to last):

colors: yellow (T-5R only), black (anything else), burgandy, blue, red, silver, white, purple.

cars: 95 850 T-5R (yellow), 97 850 T-5/R (either/or), 98 S70 T-5/R.

and no wagons.

and, unless the engine is completely blown, i dont want a car i have to work on or put any extra money into (except for a sound system, of course). if the engine is blown, and they are easy to find, and cheap to buy, i will get the car, get the engine, and take them to a shop. for example: there is a mid-90s ford thunderbird, black, blown engine, for $1200 in autotrader. i could get an engine for, probably, between $1500 and $3000 dollars, plus $500-$1000 to get it installed, that t-bird would only cost me $2200-$5200. of course, i dont know how expensive volvo engines are, esp. if i find a T-5R with a blown engine.

Ok, time to clear some things up.

95 850 T-5R Yellow

96-97 850 R Black, Red, White (there are no other colors)

96-97 850 T5 black, burgandy, blue, red, silver, white, purple. (I don't think I have seen a blue 850)

98 S70 T5 black, burgandy, blue, red, silver, white, purple. (don't think I have every seen a purple S70, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there)

98 S70 R Not in this country so you can forget about this one.

What about the 850 R private sale in Bellevue? Have you checked it out yet?
