S70RR
I have an S70R (outside of US) with 250 HP.I am willing to put a standart throttle body from 850 2.5 without turbo on my car. The throttle body on a non turbo 850 (S70) is bigger than a turbo one.Does anyone know whether it will work, or how many HP gain will I have?I have standart exhaust but without cat. also, only mods I have done is K&N drop in filter and done 2 turns on a waistgate. Thanks
Nebor
I think a 960 throttle body is even bigger, look into that.
S70RR
yes, but will it work on the car? I mean, how many HP gain should I expect roughly? If I do this mod, will the turbo die quicker?

T4R
yes, but will it work on the car? I mean, how many HP gain should I expect roughly? If I do this mod, will the turbo die quicker? You will probably get better throttle response / acceleration at low rpm (due to increased airflow) but I'm not sure if that will directly translate to any power gains. Ultimately, in a forced induction engine, I'm not sure that the throttle body is the "bottle neck". The downside you'll find going to a larger throttle body is you will get a less "linear" feel to the throttle such that there's probably going to be relatively little difference between going say 70%, 80% or 90% to WOT. Slater
I think a 960 throttle body is even bigger, look into that. No, I have measured them both. The NA TB and the 960 TB is identical. The main problem you're going to have is finding a coupling to go over the NA/960 TB. The Samco won't. The stock won't. The TB is over 3" OD! This is the main thing keeping me from installing my own NA TB, as I have 4 of them sitting gathering dust!
ccsct203
Anytime you change a MAF from another car, if it has a larger or a smaller ID, you have to customize the maf signal to your ECU.as long as a MAF is of similar design you can use it.They sell electronics which will modify the signal so nearly any MAF will work. ccsct203
sorry I put that last post in the wrong place.I have a 93 850 and I used stock TB and intercooler/TB pipes I had to buy silicone hose parts to make it work. Came out great and looks very clean.
550
It has been noted that when changing to a larger throttle body, you get less of a turbo "kick". Meaning it comes on more linearly. Will you reallynotice it though? Probably not.
S70RR
so as far as I understand there is no point toing for a larger throttle body as there are no HP gains or maybe anyone else has any other ideas about this subject?
