Need your opinions here please...

Is a Manual Boost Controller (MBC) a device to safely increase and control boost without an ECU remap? Properly installed and calibrated. of course.

Should I go for it?

If YES, which one? what kind? Where to buy online.

If NO, Why? Any bad experiences?

Thanks

S70R? ooo, and yes...it's safe, put it to 15-17psi, enjoy.

be careful with that 18T and stock injectors, the stock ecu on my car was boosting just as much as it is with the mbc (14 PSI)... only difference is the 1st gear 5 PSI limit is gone now... so instead of wheelhopping it now spins.

dawes device dual stage mbc is GOOD.

yes, it's safe as long as you go slowly. it's a good idea to have a WB02 if you're gonna turn the boost up without a chip, so you can make sure you're not leaning out.

I have an EBC, and I slowly turned up the boost and made runs with an eye on the WB02. I got up to 14psi on the stock chip until I noticed some cut, so i went back down to 13psi and have been running pretty good AFR's.

btw... you shouldn't have to pay anyone to install a mbc... it takes about 3 mins., a pair of scissors, and 2 zipties. Calibration is done with your right foot and one eye on the boost gauge.

Was that cut even a/f related?
