I live in Socal and the only problem was that the one day I decide to go to McDonalds, only the drive through was open it was packed so I said screw this Im going home to cook.,..so they saved me some calories and added some time to my life. Hats off to the Immigration amnesty movement...but seriously, also think about why theyre in mexico, they consider themselves La Raza...the race, the indigenous peoples of america, the native americans that we pushed out. What else? Do you know who Steve austin is? No not stone cold, he was one of the original Texas Rangers. For years these guys would go to south america and with gunboat diplomacy take over the farms. They would force the workers to work for nothing, and ship the crop back to america for processing where the factories and companies would package it and make the money. The farms were getting no money. In the case of Puerto Rico, they turned their currency into US dollars overnight and their native currency wasnt worth anything, in both situations farmers and workers had to sell their land and move...where? to America. Same thing with the Banana Republic. Guatemala,..have you heard of the Iran Contra affair...nm. America has been Raping other countries for years and now were paying for it cause when a countrys standard of living goes down where do ppl go? America..PS, Rush is a homo

first im not gonna justify what our country has done to other people in the past, yeah forget about the fact that alot of those shady practices got us alot of the freedom and oppurtunitys we have today(life aint fair buddy) but think about this scenerio:::::

your neighbor has a 1997 volvo 850R in perfect condition thats been sitting in his driveway(lets say his dad gave it to him). he doesnt know how to drive, doesnt know its value, doesnt really know what hes got, but one day you get to talkin and he says he needs some cash and he'll let you take it for 500 bucks, now remember this guy is letting that car sit there and rot, are you:

A: taking advantage of him

or

B:giving it a better home and using it to its full potential

you cant be doing both

Thanks to the liberal morons (of both parties) actions in Washington, we are losing are country by lack of respect of our borders, language and culture. How many cities/states will be lost to or confiscated by the illegals without ever firing a shot? Who will stand up for us when we will be the minority? Will we be entitled to affirmitive action?

Bill permits 193 million more aliens by 2026

The Senate immigration reform bill would allow for up to 193 million new legal immigrants -- a number greater than 60 percent of the current U.S. population -- in the next 20 years, according to a study released yesterday.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama Republican who conducted a separate analysis that reached similar results, said Congress is "blissfully ignorant of the scope and impact" of the bill, which has bipartisan support in the Senate and has been praised by President Bush.

"This Senate is not ready to pass legislation that so significantly changes our future immigration policy," he said yesterday. "The impact this bill will have over the next 20 years is monumental and has not been thought through."

The 614-page "compromise" bill -- hastily cobbled together last month by Republican Sens. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska and Mel Martinez of Florida -- would give illegal aliens who have been in the U.S. two years or longer a right to citizenship. Illegals who have been here less than two years would have to return to their home countries to apply for citizenship.

Although that "amnesty" would be granted to about 10 million illegals, the real growth in the immigrant population would come later.

As part of the bill, the annual flow of legal immigrants allowed into the U.S. would more than double to more than 2 million annually. In addition, the guest-worker program in the bill would bring in 325,000 new workers annually who could later apply for citizenship.

That population would grow exponentially from there because the millions of new citizens would be permitted to bring along their extended families. Also, Mr. Sessions said, the bill includes "escalating caps," which would raise the number of immigrants allowed in as more people seek to enter the U.S.

"The impact of this increase in legal immigration dwarfs the magnitude of the amnesty provisions," said Mr. Rector, who has followed Congress for 25 years. He called the bill "the most dramatic piece of legislation in my experience."

Mr. Rector based his numerical projection on the number of family members that past immigrants have sponsored.

Immigration into the U.S. would become an "entitlement," Mr. Sessions said. "The decision as to who may come will almost totally be controlled by the desire of the individuals who wish to immigrate to the United States rather than by the United States government."

Senate Casts First Votes on Immigration

WASHINGTON, May 16 — Senators cast their first votes on immigration legislation this afternoon, just as President Bush vowed to work closely with skeptical members of Congress on a comprehensive bill to fix a system that does not work.

The Senate defeated, 55 to 40, a proposal by Senator Johnny Isakson, Republican of Georgia, that lawmakers demand that border-security measures be in place before beginning a guest-worker program of the kind envisioned by President Bush.

The 55 senators rejected Mr. Isakson's argument that, if the Congress did not act now, it would have to a decade or so from now, and that "instead of 10 million or 12 million, it will be 24 million" illegal immigrants at issue.

Opponents of the Isakson measure (36 Democrats, 18 Republicans and the independent James Jeffords of Vermont) maintained that it would be an obstacle to the kind of comprehensive legislation that is needed.

my two cents, i live in a high labor area and while i was visiting with a work crew today that my friend works on i had a startling realization. As he sat there and talked to me, he explained that he had just come off 3 back to back shifts installing irregation equipment, he said that becuase of the new fear of prosecution almost none of the workers have come back for the summer, forcing him (he works for his dad) to work back to back shifts. I thought maybe it was an isolated incedent in the town so i checked the want adds, all 8 pages of them, and when you live in a town of about 4000 people, thats alot of jobs. Now some might say "victory" weve created jobs for americans, others might say "stuff" i have to pay out the jerk for goods and services in my town now. But to be honest it hasnt really affected me, and all i ask for is some legislation that allows guest workers to come in and work, pay taxes, etc and go home when they want. Because in reality i bet there are hundreds of people in my town right now without jobs, but becuase they refuse to do the back breaking labor that the immigrants provide, they will continue to not have jobs. Hey im all for border patrol, but at some point one has to realize that our economy is dependant on the influx of cheap labor and that unless americans want to start doing crappy jobs, they might as well let someone else do it cheaper.

quick edit: if we allow more legal immigrants and drasticlly cut the illegal sector of it those numbers dont sound so high, considering the number of illegals is in the millions.

I took this pic of this guy's license plate frame yesterday in California. The top is a Mexican flag and the bottom says "America". What does that mean? Does he want Mexico to retake part of America or does he want America to adopt the Mexican flag? Just imagine how all of America would be plagued by corruption and illiteracy and desparation if that was the case (if America was like Mexico).

This is not about having un-skilled workers performing jobs of little interest by American workers. This is an uncontrolled invasion of undocumented, unskilled. uneducated, people who have violated our border and have zero interest in assimilation into the American culture or language butwith help from the liberal Democrats are demanding rights from our government at all of our expense. We are literally paying taxation for their representation! For security reasons alone this situation needs to get controlled right now. There are alot of OTM's coming over that we need to be concerned about.

You stated "But to be honest it hasn't really affected me". These are not just lawncutters, vegetable pickers or chicken feather pluckers who are arriving here illegally. Many of these illegals are taking over jobs Americans want such as many of the Union workers jobs. Why these Unions continue to support the backstabbing they get from their Democratic candidates they continually support is beyond me but that is another topic. The facts are that many of these people carry communicable disease that is not common to the United States. There is no way that any European or elsewhere immigrant could come into this country via Ellis Island and not have a clean bill of health. 29% of incarcerated inmates are these "friendly hardworking migrants" for criminal activity unrelated to their border hopping while us taxpayers foot the bill. With the number of projected illegal aliens to arrive here, our country, our government and all of us citizens, the land and our natural resources will be bankrupted.

A huge problem is in the liberals use of the United States Constitution which states:

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Those words were written not to keep out illegal aliens, but to abolish slavery and overturn the Dred Scott case. Now these same words are being used by our scumbag liberal politicians who support this border jumping and their anchor babies as a way of increasing their voter base to re-gain lost power at the expense of turning this beloved country into a third-world nation. Where do you think these poor people got the money and organization to front all of the protests?

I sure as hell didn't.

Neither did I. The only thing their protest did was make me furious at the fact that I had to wait in traffic longer.

And if they want to argue about anything.. I'll tell them how my parents came here legally, went to a community college to learn English and get a basic degree (even though they both have Masters degrees in engineering in Russia), cleaned people's houses to pay for that and support my sister and me... finally they got good jobs and were able to afford nice things like a house (our house is worth $1.2M, fully remodeled inside) and cars. All I'm saying is that my parents were able to accomplish things that others can as well... what my parents DIDN'T do is complain about their rights, because they took the effort to come in legally.
