Cheap Fmic Conversion..

Recommended Posts

Would I have to change the Climate Control controls for a non A/C version?

Also do you just block off the holes left in the evaporator?

My car came with the manual AC controls. Simply don't touch the button..

Still need to open the dash to remove the last bits underneath.

Nice mod, I'm jealous you can drop the condensor without suffering the consequences.

<-- wore a tank and boardshorts today to compensate for the 90+ heat... in March.

psssst... Its May buddy.

I believe this could be squeezed in front of everything and still be behind the grill. Inlet and outlet would go above the radiator like stock. Once the factory Intercooler is gone, the condenser would be moved back against the radiator. Have even more room then 0a110472.jpg

Is there any way to get an fmic kit and still have your ac intact when its installed on the car. This would be ideal but is it possible and still functional?????

Myself and a bunch of other members have done a front mount intercooler in the lower portion of the bumper with excellent results, PM me for details or search for my threads about it.

Bumping this thread up because I need some questions answered.

My car is off the road and i'm starting the gt35r conversion.

Now, I took out the stock IC yesterday in hopes of making room from my FMIC, but i soon realised that you don't gain any room by removing the IC because of the way the brackets are welded to the condensor.

I really have two options if I want the new IC to fit properly.

1) Fab some brackets and move the whole radiator/condensor/fan assembly bac an inch or so. This might not work all that well since the fan is already pretty close to the motor.

2) Remove the AC condensor. I don't mind going this route becasue I only use my AC maybe once a year when I go on vacation. Now, i'm unsure what will happen if someone engages the auto climate control and the AC kicks in while the condensor is missing and the systems is not pressurized.

Thoughts?
