I saw it on Saturday on my way to the dyno day, I purposely drive down Fremont just to see it :D

Ted, you go through yellows like I go through socks, pretty damn quick man! You and G together are on 3 yellows, maybe 4 if you find another low mileage one :P

Thanks for keeping an eye on the car Carson.... Poor MINI took the outside spot for now.... And yes, I am still hoping for a ultra low mile yellow....That will give me a reason to move to a place w/ a bigger garage :D

Ted,

I know I may be too late on this but is the car still available? This is my absolute dream car! I have a '98 V70R AWD which I love, but I've always wanted a yellow 850R :P !

My only problem is that I'm in Calgary, AB CANADA. I'm currently researching what it would take to import this car into Canada. If it's not too onerous I may be able to purchase it from you if still available. Could you PM me with your contact info if it is still available?

Thanks,

Mike

Others have researched importing into Canada from the US and it is a oh yeah! to do.

My 1st yellow came from Canada and went back to canada... The only thing we had to do was to change the cluster? Same thing when it went back.... The just put the km's cluster back on and adjusted everything to km's?

Someone else was looking at importing an American car into Canada. Since your other one was already Canadian and had the right cluster, it was probably easier to get back in. I think Mike was looking at bringing in an s70 manual, but the fees were too much for him.

Might be....I have no idea about the fees.... I can easily ask the person who bought my car..... But to register it here, we changed the cluster, took it through emmisions and that was it....

Yeah, it isn't bad to bring it in from Canada because it should already pass the crash test stuff. The only other thing that the US cares about is the emissions. Going back into Canada the yellow was probably easier because it was a Canadian car. The s70 would have to pay sales tax because it was never sold in Canada before. The yellow was, so it didn't have to pay twice.

That makes sense and you clearly know much more than I do on this subject. It would be weird to sell both of my yellow's to Canada for sure :o

Mike would know a lot more about it than me since he looked into it. I just remember the fees were high and something about having to pay GST on it since it wasn't sold in Canada before.

Of course, it is worth checking to see what the import cost might be, just have to factor that into the cost of buying the car if you are Canadian. It is a bit strange, because I can't see anything in Canada being more strict than the US, but that is how they do it.

It's me again. I'm currently looking into the importation rules. I thought I'd weigh in to this discussion based on my findings so far.

It sounds like I'd be on the hook for GST (7%) and Duty (6%) since the car was manufactured outside of North America (U.S./Canadian/Mexican built cars have no duty) <_< . These percentages are based on the Canadian $ equivalent of the U.S. $ purchase price at the exhange rate in effect the day the car crosses the border.

My bigger concern is what modification I would have to pay for in order for the car to clear a Federal Registrar Inspection. I need to talk to someone at Volvo Canada to determine the what's and the how much's

I'll keep everyone posted :D

I really want this car...I believe there may only be 2 yellow T5-R's in all of Calgary (population 1 million)! B)

As far as modifications from what I know..... You will need a:

-Cluster in Km's

-Day time runnig lights (which this car has and we can activate them)

Those are the only diffrences I can think about between my old Canadian spec car and this one.... Oh and the heater controls were in Celsius instead of Fahrenheit....but since I got used to C's on my old car I have changed the control dispays to Celsius already B)

Guest NFGplayboy@work

Doesn't the Canadian spec 850 have the lambda warning light while the US ones don't?

Even though the cluster would be replaced....might be some extra wiring or something I dunno.
