Vendor Announcement

Recommended Posts

Due to some recent abuse by a small number of vendors, Volvospeed is modifying its existing policies. These changes apply to only those of you with Vendor status.

To curb abuse and help limit spam from legit posts we will start requiring commercial posts to be done from a vendor user name. Vendors will now be required to do one of three things to retain their status.

1. Link back to Volvospeed from their website

2. Sponsor Volvospeed through the project car or by donating items for raffles

3. Paying a small monthly fee

I am asking all vendors to contact me as they have time. With the holidays I understand some of you are out of town. With that said, to ensure your account goes un-effected please contact me via PM no later than June 10th 2006.

I've come to really enjoy having the "real" vendors as part of the forum. In an effort to quell the spammers... let's not make it so tough on the real vendors that they up and leave the board. We'd all lose out if that were to happen.

Just me 2.5 cents on the matter.

It seems that your requirements to seperate the "real" vendors from the "false" vendors are rather steep and unnecessary.

Why not remove the vendor tag altogether and let the vendors link to their website in their signatures?

BOoooooo........

If you are going to use the site to addvertise your wares, you should be required to give back to the site in IMHO.

I should have refined my comment, I meant to say for the Vendor Representatives who don't promote their website. But are here if you have questions pertaining to their, and other products.

Only vendors who activly sell are tagged. I just want people to know the person saying "Yo man, brand X product Y is dope" may be the person who gets your money. So take it with a grain of salt. I have tried to make a policy that allows vendors to meet the requirements in a number of ways that are very easy to meet.

hasnt this been the policy before? b/c i think its very important part that they tell you they are the ones who would sell it to you or make them. Well then again, what i think doesnt matter all that much anyways ;)

No product Y is made by brand X. But product Z sold by G sucks!

I think product J is dope, so you can all suck it.

seriously, though, the requirements that are set are a must. Too many people out there who are "partners in business" don't have the vendor tags. They promote the company's products as a "regular" member, but go home at night with some change. NOT COOL. Plus, if you want to make money off of VS members, then you have to contribute some also (not saying that you don't already contribute with your products, but those same products feed your families).
