Mine don't light up and i can't remeber if they ever did.Yep, there is a bulb there. Getting there requires pulling up the entire center console; but that's a simple task. First of all, a clear lens LED will ALWAYS have a higher mcd rating than a diffused LED. Why? because mcd is measured at one point, normally at the very tip of the LED a few inches (?) away. Let me illustrate...An clear lens LED with 30 degrees of light output may register 1000mcd. Whereas as the same type of LED with 15 degrees of light output may register 2000mcd. See where I'm getting at?Diffused LEDs are just the same LEDs except with very large angles, sort of say. Basically, look for the highest MCD rating you can find at the widest angle possible (depending on your application, of course).Okay, as for the dash. I was planning to just take the thing apart and angle the widest angle orange 3mm LEDs directly into the prisms that are under there. It would take a bunch of LEDs and might look ghetto on the inside, but who knows, I might just work :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The turn signals I'd leave as they are, it'd be hard to change the color given the green filter. If you shine red/orange light through, nothing will come out since the green filter will absorb it.
