Hello to all and sorry to interrupt but, can you tell me more about this systems?

I've heard this Rex/Regina and Regina systems, but don't know much about them. Is the only diference the MAP sensor? What is you call LH 2.4?

Thanks for any info you can share.

pretty much everything is different about them.

Lh 2.4 has a head mounted dizzy, 2 fuel pumps, larger injectors(so i've been told), and a cylindrical coil.

Rexx/regina has a block mounted dizzy, i believe one fuel pump(in tank), smaller injectors, and a coil more similar to an 850.

Basically the fuel and air intake is the one that changes. Interesting... but, the displacement is the same? Same bore/stroke ratio? Same cylinder heads and cams? Any exhaust difference? Trying to find out if buying or interchanging parts could bring more power to mine.

Thanks for the response!!

Ok! understood..

I have this neat little table with the different engine management systems for Volvo:

Volvo 940 2 litre - 92 on - Bosch LH 2.4

Volvo 940 2 litre (B200E) - 90-91 - Bosch EZ118K Ignition

Volvo 940 2 litre 16 Valve Cat - 90-91 - Bosch LH 2.4

Volvo 940 2.0 litre - 1992 - MAF

Volvo 940 2.0 Litre - 95 on - LH2.4

Volvo 940 2.3 - 91-92 - LH2.4

Volvo 940 2.3 - 89 - 96 - Jet/LH2.2

I understand that all 2 litre engines are B200 configurations that were marketed in Europe, and the mayority are the Regina engine management system.

Now there are two engine systems for 940 developed for the B230, one is the Regina. But... then the Jet is the Rex/Regina system? or is it the LH2.2? Or is it the combo, Jet/LH2.2?

Sorry to keep asking, but I though and was under the impression that all B230's were alike, seeing that every Volvo in the 200, 700, and 900 series here has the same engine management system. As well as others I've seen in internet through various pages as Cardomain and eBay.

This is so interesting, I've got manuals of engine performance and I've never stubled across this. So, maybe if having a swap of engine management systems one can get bigger output in an engine that was designed for another? What about the computers, can they be tricked?

I'll keep looking for more info, but any other info you can get posted here would be appreciated.

Later!! :)

UPDATE!!! Found this chart in Vlvworld!

For the B230F engine there are three management systems:

85-88 - LH2.2

89-93 - LH2.4

91-95 - LH3.1

What are the diferences? According to the chart all give the same HP and Torque at the same speed. That is why I thought all B230 are alike, but I could be wrong.

The B230A, B230E, B230ET, B230FT have other management systems, but those are good for another post.

Later!!

Jet is LH system. It is technically called Bosch LH Jetronic x.x then there was also Monitronic on the olderones. and 99+ volvos use what's called ME7.

The different numbers are just liek a version diffreence generally for different Emissions requirements.

There are only two engine systems on 940's n/a and turbo, ALL turbo cars are LH 2.4 which is bosch jetronic.

On n/a 940's you either had a n/a version of lh 2.4 or rexx/regina.

rexx/regina and bosch LH 2.4 are the engine management systems.

Its kinda like having a computer unless its a mac, its compatible with windows OR linux.

All b230's are alike engine wise within their year models.

Some have said the the lh 2.4 cars are more ballsier than the rexx/regina cars.

Hope some of this helps you guys understand better.

What the pictures are showing is the hose connecting the airbox via a valve to the California emissions crap. The Pulsair system. Mine cracked to0o and the dealer wanted $45 for it. FCPGroton and IPD wanted around $30-$36 so I skipped it, dabbed some silicone on it and let it be.
