Bay850
Im talking about the stock foglights on the 850s, '97 to be exact. Im trying to get the foglights to engage w/o having the headlights on. I know this has already been discussed and ive read the how-to on it. But what im having trouble with is sliding the "metal part" out as described in step 6....."6) Now heres the hard part, you need to slide the metal part out, it has tabs, now one side dosnt really matter if you keep the plastic mounting spot intact, but the otherone will help hold it in the new position, you need to pull it out and reinsert it like this..." BEFORE:AFTER:The problem is getting the piece out because the tabs wont let it happen. I tried using a swiss army knife to hold down the tab and pull the other side of the metal piece with plyers lol. Also im worried about somehow breaking the metal piece or the relay as a whole. Does anyone know the consequences of that? Arright THANKS!!

Im trying to get the foglights to engage w/o having the headlights on. I know this has already been discussed and ive read the how-to on it. But what im having trouble with is sliding the "metal part" out as described in step 6.....I know exactly what you mean...I did this mod 2 weeks ago and this was the hardest part for me too...These are the tools you'll need:1) small but very stong phillips screw driver2) wrench (the one that locks and can clamp on to something...has one lever to tighten grip and one to loosen grip)---sorry about not knowing the exact name---Use the small phillips to bend the tiny clip in the opposite direction of where it was made to hook onto the plastic...Now you might not notice that it's (the clip) bending, but after a while (10mins.)...Your also going to have to use the same phillips and a hammer(small, or something else to hit the phillips with) to open up the space on the outer side. Try it until u can see a lil' bit of the clamp...Hold the phillips in position (on the inner side) and try to bend the clip even more, while now pulling on the outer part of the metal peice with the clamping wrench. Remember you won't break the metal by pulling on it, just try not to bend the connector too much...Work on one side at a time...Once you get one side slightly out work on getting the other side out...I spent about an hour on the whole process... Volvoson
I found that the angrier I got at the relay, the less progress I made in getting the tab out... I took a 20 minute "break", picked up my pliers and started yanking and it came right out. Just keep trying to pull, it will come out eventually.
