we have a seperation of church and state (sometimes I think it has come to the point it is too seperated but that's another debate) where as their church is their state....

How can it be too seperated? They've got nothing at all to do with each other..

I live in israel , let me tell you, situation is very hard for both sides, my heart is with those innocent cevillians in lebanon , a big problem is that the terror groups place their rocket launchers in cevillian areas as a stratetgic location so israel will not take any action , locating WEAPONS around SCHOOLS AND HOSPITALS - so much for them caring about their PEOPLE , they cannot attack israel and force us to stand still for the attacks because they locate themselves and their deadly armor in innocent cevillian areas , although israel as some1 mentioned here, does all it can to CONCETRATE on hizballa members and other terror groups as their targets , did you guys know that before allmost any attack from israel our army informs the residents to clear the place so they wont get hurt? hizballa on the other hand blow up busses and sends suicide bombers to blow up at places where israeli kids hang out , and now.....shoot their Katuishas to hit and kill as many CEVILLIANS as they can!!

i served the army and let me tell you , our policy is indeed to be hard on secruity terms although NEVER EVER harm cevillians , those groups try to send as many suicide bomers into israel as they can on those pipelines that israel allows arab workers get into israel and work to support their families .

Its really hard for me to read Posts like those of Mr 850t5r , espcially when they lack knowledge on whats really going on , i lost a few of my friends on suicide bombings , WE MUST FIGHT TERROR AND USE OUR FORCES TO HELP THE INNCOCENT CEVILLIANS THAT WERE CAPTURED UNDER THE TERROR ORGANIZATIONS AS WELL .

Here's a video of the israeli Reality - Maybe this will help mr 850t5r understand the situation a little better

stage.co.il/media/largefiles/doribenisraelkario299562.wmv

- please bare in mind - its hard to view - but this is what most of our residents face as an everyday situation for the last years

I should have seen a "Warning - Graphic Content"

Please, when posting content like that - give a warning... I don't like to see stuff like that, it's sad, and it makes me cry.

I made it 3 secs before I had to close it...

I thank you for posting it though... maybe it will shed a little light as to what it's really like over there, even though we all think know the horrors of what is going on - seeing it like that, brings the raw reality of it to life.

I find it interesting how so many of you, who don't know first hand what is truly going on, can make the statements you do. To argue about who is right who is wrong... to show anger towards what some one else believes shows that you think you couldn't possibly be wrong, and for most of you to think you know what is going on is just absurd - were you given some special insight as to what is happening? And to think that you are right while they are wrong is just idiotic, who decided your word as right, you? Who are you? I believe what I believe, and it is different from what Charlie believes, but that doesn't make Charlie incorrect and me right, it makes us different...

I like Lucky Charms. Lucky Charms is good.

Jena I really do respect your opinion but you can not appease terrorism. terrorists are a cancer that has to be killed.

When did I saw appease terrorism?

Holy cow... is that's what you got out of what I said

well you said "to argue about who is right and who is wrong" and the thread is about the Middle East/muslim extreamists/terror. By most accounts terrorism is "wrong"

Then you said "who decided your word as right, you? Who are you? I believe what I believe, and it is different from what Charlie believes, but that doesn't make Charlie incorrect and me right, it makes us different... " what I got from that is we are all different (which we are, and thats good) but if Charlie wanted to kill someone simply because they are jewish(ie different), does that still make him right? (if terrorists think they are right for killing someone just because they are Jewish does that make them right since they[terrorists] are just being different?)

I guess you ment something else and I just took it a different way.

but, I do have several friends in the middle east, and they are on both sides of the battle lines. I have gone to israel and seen the steps Israel has had to take due to the constant threat of attack.

Im sorry for not giving a proper warning , i'm sorry jena.

although even though i am an israeli , we all should know that not only our side see's that horror , indeed those terror groups aim at our children and try to kill as many cevillians as they can but there are also arab innocent cevillians that are attached to those terror groups and get hurt as well , and not from a free choice .

something has to be done , it is a cancer that should be removed permamently

All sides suffer, even the sides that are not directly fighting. the world has become too small for an issue to effect just one "group" or region. The sooner something is done about terrorists and radicals the better off the world will be.

Sadly, it is far more complex than any conversation we can have in this forum. NONE of the parties involved can claim the moral high ground.

One parties terrorist is anothers freedom fighter. By the very definition of terrorist our founding fathers would have all been hung.

I seriously doubt it will be resolved in my lifetime.

Wrong Wrong Wrong.

You are equating our founding father's with terrorists? Did they behead civilians? Blow up weddings? No.

They are NOT morally equivalent. This is where many people need to tap their moral compass to get a north or south reading.

It is almost insulting to put them in the same category.

Life is life and cultural clashes, dominance, and defeat has gone on since the history of humankind. Witness the Sumarians, Greeks, Romans, Ottomans, Aztecs, Indians, etc

Nature and natural human processes and development will inevitably lead to cultural clashes, war and death. Ultimatley triumph and contiunance for the victorious people and death, defeat, and cessation of existence of conquered cultures. But just as this has negatives, it also leads to positives- generally many times over (aka. advancement) - space travel, biotechnology, and modern medicine. Cultures, like living creatures, must adapt or risk vanishing.

The Europoeans brought their way of life and culture to the Indians- who didn't even have the wheel. It's obvious who would win AND whose culture had more value to, if you will, the "human cause". Today the Indian culture is all but gone, and but its traditions (considered contributions) are adopted by the triumphant culture. In a way, it does persist.

Today, the Liberal mind nobly seeks a solution that can allow all to exist but the reality of life and cultural dynamics (such as the Western societies going to Mars and reaching interstellar space, while simultaneously African tribesman strap new bamboo sleeves around their penises) creates a formidable gap to bridge. And by artificially holding off this natural cultural conquering, potential energy is created by the extended cultural tension.

The Liberal's quest-path of "Can't we all get along", IMHO, is futile and simply accumulates change-energy through their social efforts, leading to bigger and more severe society-quakes when the faults slip. I mean really, how much longer can AND SHOULD the rapidly growing and aggressive space-cultures dance around the bush-grass skirted ones?

It is a sobering question of reality. There is no rainbow solution. That is the reality. Cultures and societies will continue to come and disappear. But Liberals, in their good hearts strive to find a way to allow all who exists to continue forever, almost ironically ultra-conservatism.

Back to this topic, Islam is a religeon, that in its widest form, does not appear to allow for the advancement of its societies. And in fact, Sharia (Islamic law) is backwards compared to western law.

He is right, the British looked at the leaders of the revolution as terrorists and had we lost they would have been hung as traitors.

Did our forefathers fight fair? yes they did. there was some friction between groups but they did not run around bombing markets and beheading POWs.

The American colonies revolted on reasons of taxation without representation and freedom (to name a very few, also the revolution was a minority revolution). They fought to gain freedom.

Terrorists might call themselves freedom fighters but look at how they treat their own people once this "freedom" has been fought for. It's usually one oppressor after another until the people, economy, and country are ran into the ground. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The so called freedom fighters hide behind civilians and then blame the other side for killing the civilians they were hiding behind.

As long as there are humans on Earth there will never be peace.....remember that line from the Matrix movie where agent smith calls the human race a virus... well the longer I live the more I believe that statement to be true. some viruses are worse than others though.

Well said. Luckily our founding fathers had a moral compass that has made us a great nation, but not without a lot of work, and bloodshed within it's own borders.

The Europoeans brought their way of life and culture to the Indians- who didn't even have the wheel. It's obvoius who would win AND whose culture had more value to, if you will, the "human cause". Today the Indian culture is all but gone, and but its traditions (consider contributions) are adopted by the triumphant culture. In a way, it does persist.

I'll bet there are a few Indians that would argue that it has been for the better of humanity.

The taking of Palestine by the British and giving it to the Jews with the blessing of the US and it's might will plague the Israelis as long as there are Arabs and Jews in the Middle East.
