While I do not condone terrorism in any way, it can never be eliminated without understanding why it happens.

Lets say you're a young palistinian. All you've known since you were born is poverty, religious zealotry and what appears to palistinians as repression by Israel. Either one does nothing about it (99%) or there is that 1% that is a potential suicide bomber. Again, I am not saying these are not seriously misguided individuals, but what other options have they to make a statement? Peaceful demonstration never got anything done down there.

Looking at the average Israeli's world it is easy to understand why they blame the palistinians. All is good and well and then on a beautiful sunny day some family members get scattered all over a street.

Of course the real problems are a) conflicting ideologies b ) skewed balance of power.

The first is rather obvious, and it has to be said that all those decades ago when Israel was created some things were decided rather hastily without thinking it through all too well.

The second problem, since the U.S. keeps its hand over Israel no matter whàt they can do whatever they like and escape punishment regardless of what the rest of the world may think of its actions. Thats another reason why the U.N. in its current format doesnt work very well (single nation vetoes) but okay.

Of course Israel has the right to defend itself, but it has in the past gone way further than this. Land grabs have undisputably taken place and as it is supplied arms ànd truckloads of cash by the U.S. it can do so with little resistance as the Palistinians have nothing except some rudimentary explosives.

Welcome to world politics. There are no decisions based on right or wrong, only who is in bed with who.

Of course a good portion of the blame lies with the Palistinians, too. But Israel being the way more advanced and prospering (thank you USA) nation should take the high ground and not throw a shitfit over relatively small things. Because every time they do they just create more potential terrorists.

In a way its mind boggling how huge nations with complicated political systems cannot -or refuse to- open their eyes and see that fighting terror with wars simply doesnt work. Nobody blows themself up because they are in a bad mood, it is because they have nothing else to live for anymore and as the last thing they do want to hurt the entity that put them in that situation.

Anyway like I said before I dont see this crisis ending because all sides involved are stubborn, hypocritical and plain hate each other after decades of this stuff.

I think you have stated it very well. If Israel were to give nothing more than economic stability to the Palestinians they would have a much better chance at peace. When you have something to lose, you think twice about strapping C4 and nails to yourself. This became very clear to me many years ago when I saw a photo of a young Palestinian boy throwing a rock at an Israeli tank.

The actions of the victors post WWII may have very well sealed our fate of WWIII, just as did the Versailles Treaty at the end of WWI.

Hate is there long beofre israel had the ECONOMY AND ARMY , bare in mind we came here 60 years ago after 6 million jews were killed and as a small group we fought all the arab nations who tried to demolish us!

and still israel provides work for the arabic people - and guess what ...many use that option of working options in israel so they could support their families - to enter israel and make those suicide bombings

there is no other way - tollerance was tried before , but THIS HAS TO STOP.

The taking of Palestine by the British and giving it to the Jews with the blessing of the US and it's might will plague the Israelis as long as there are Arabs and Jews in the Middle East.

There was no such thing as a Palestinian in those days. There was no country called Palestine. Just a region. The people living there were referred to as "Southern Syrians" or Arabs living in Palestine. HAd you asked someone and said where are the Palestinians, they would have no clue to whom you would be referring but they would know the area.

Lol!

I'm at work... Lol, it usually takes a min or so to load so during that time I either minimize it, or direct my attention somewhere else. All I know is I looked up & saw death, went :o:( and closed it. The 3rd dead guy I saw was burnt :( .

Isn't it funny (not haha funny but odd funny) how some one can watch a movie with people dying and stuff and stuff and not be affected by it, but can't watch something like that... :( How simple the mind works yeah? To just be able to say "This is just a movie" is good enough to not be bothered by it's content, even when one knows that things they see in the film, is just like what it was/is in reality. Like Saving Private Ryan... I would think that is a good/close indication as to what it was like, yeah? I can watch that movie over n over again, or like Braveheart, that's a bloody movie, I can watch that no problem, but if I saw actual footage of people being hacked by swords and stuff, <shakes head> nope... couldn't stand to see it.

I went a bit off topic... sorry for the random babbling.

That's just symantics and you know it. There land was stolen and they aren't going to just "get over it" In all fairness over 30,000 Jews had bought land, and were resettling in the area since the early 30's. So the formation of Israel would have likely played out without issue had the Brits and Americans just left it alone. It would have taken a bit longer, but it was in the works.

There is plenty of material on WWII out there. If you want to confirm that Hitler was not prejudice on who he killed the information is out there. I don't have the source, but will certainly share it if I come across it again.

I could give a rat's jerk one way or another, but our governments blind backing of Israel has and will continue to plague the US and it's citizens. Unforunately it's not just when they travel abroad anymore.

The prospering of Israel has NOTHING to do with the USA. They have done everything on their own and the US actually gets some military technology from Israel. The US doesnt give a blind backing to Israel, they put themselves in Israel's shoes and are doing the same thing they would do. What would happen if you sent your kid to school on a schoolbus filled with other children? An hour later you turn on the news to see a burning schoolbus filled with dead children because there was an extremist terrorist who decided to blow them up? You cannot equate israel with the palestinians because they are a different breed of people. From an early age all they are taught is hate and terrorist. Did you know that when Yasser Arafat was alive he offered $20,000 dollars to any family that volunteered someone of their family to be a suicide bomber? Does it sound right for a leader of a people to do something like that? Now ask why houses were destroyed and Israel occupied gaza! How can you expect a country to sit around while being terrorized in all sorts of ways and not do anything about it? If this kind of terror took place in America I cant even imagine what the US would do to the country responsible for the attack...

You are VERY wrong. Palestinians dont want economic stablility, they dont want peace, they want one thing. "their land" back. I dont understand why it is still an issue... The US never gave its land back to the Indians or the British, yet every time lebanon invades israel (ex 6 day war) and israel defends itself, fights back and takes land, they always give it back. I want someone to explain to me why Palestinians think they have the right to Israel? Palestine became israel a long, long, long, long, long, long time ago and the only real proof of that is the bible. The argument is stupid and it has nothing to do with the fact that "Palestinians have nothing to live for." It has to do with the fact that these people are uneducated and brainwashed from a young age so that they think the only way to get their point across is by doing something extreme and violent.

That's just symantics and you know it. There land was stolen and they aren't going to just "get over it" In all fairness over 30,000 Jews had bought land, and were resettling in the area since the early 30's. Ah I see, The Brits colonize your land and then give it to someone else via the UN and that's not stolen. OK I am glad that's been clarified for me.
