wlfbronco
After installing tthe simplistic Hallman MBC,,, Ist run I could only get about 5# out of it,, the guy I bought it from told me he had it set at 13#,, so I figure, well maybe it somehow got turned down a bit when I was admiring it for 2 months before installing.... sooo I do a couple turns on it,,, maybe 6/7 lbs.... well this evening ,, its much cooler,, I cranked it up a bit on long stretch of rd. here in no. va... well after cranking it till it wont turn any more,,, 10#, with a spike to maybe 12,,,, Car has a S/T 17# chip, full down pipe and exhaust ,, before I installed the mbc,,,, 17lbs easy,,,, I caped the vacum, nipple on the inlet tube and from the directions I've read here on line,,wasnt really necessary to cap the 3 ports on the Electronic boost controller, fairly new vacum lines,,,, Am I missing something ???? Any ideas ????
Volvoson
Did you install the vacuum lines correctly on the MBC? Inlet is the line from the turbo, outlet goes to the wastegate.
POOKDIZZLE
If all lines are correct check for a boost leak, check the hose under your throttle cover, squeeze it to make sure it's not cracked. Also make sure your wastgate is working properly as well as your cbv, you could be losing boost in any of these places. How much boost were you holding prior to the mbc install? JHEIII874T5M
flip the mbc around, see what happens.btw... are you doing it inlet compressor line -> MBC -> wastegate? or wastegate off turbo -> mbc -> wastegate port on bcs? I'm expecting you to say the 1st one.

JHEIII874T5M
Try flipping it around, sometimes different MBCs act differently. I'm pretty sure you have it setup right though.
wlfbronco
yup , the first oneBefore I installed the mbc,, could run on up to 15/17lbs no prb.,,, may switch it back this week to see if there is an issue with stock ....
Texas850Turbo
Did you try all the gears? I can only get 11 psi in 1st, but I boost 14 psi nicely in the others. I don't really see why you have a MBC if you're chipped and boosting fine with the chip.
JHEIII874T5M
The Hallman, does it look like this one?If so, usuallly the top of that picture leads to the vacuum port on the turbo and the side of it leads to the vacuum port on the wastegate. wlfbronco
Looks exactly like that one,, and thats how its hooked up,, side port to the wastegate,, top port to the turbo,,,,
ziddey
maybe the spring isnt strong enough for wahtever reason although if the PO of it was able to do 13psi, something seems astray
JHEIII874T5M
Try this... put all the vacuum lines back to stock. Then, put it inline with the wastegate. In other words, the wastegate line will go wastegate nipple on turbo -> MBC -> BCS.

I have a dawes that is set up about 4 inches from the turbo and waste gate. Maybe it is the boost controller design itself.
