1997 Glt Upgrade (lpt). Would A 1997 T-5 Ecu And A 15g Bring It Up To T-5 Power?

Looking at buying a 1997 GLT for my wife. Wanted to know if a t-5 ecu and the 15G off of my T-5 would make this thing a pseudo T-5, or are there other variables I am not seeing.

I think you may need the whole wiring harness? Intercooler Piping and intercooler? Anything associated with turbo... BCV, ect

I just might have all of these things, besides the turbo and the ECU, and one of the intercooler rubber pipes from the turbo outlet is a little messed up but not horribly. I'm parting out an entire 850 turbo as you might know and I have not sold any of these components.

Yes that will work just fine.

WTF???? Why would you do that? It already has a turbo. 2.4 block with a 13g

yes, people have put larger turbo's into their lpt

they usually remap their ecu's to adjust for the turbo

i don't think there should be a problem if you use the stock T-5 ecu

if you do this ... you'll find you'll be a fair amount quicker than another stock T-5 because of the increased CR on the LPT motors you will make a fair amount more torque and power @ the same boost/rpm .. turn up the boost and it will become very quick

A couple have. ;)

Jesse- DO you still have that last downpipe? I would love to pick it up this weekend. Hell, I would even let you install it as a last hoorah.;)

Yeah, what he said.

I rode in a 97 lpt with 16t, DP (3" IIRC) and an IPD ECU. It was notably quicker than my 855 turbo... Even with the 17PSI ST chip.

However, that block didn't last very long... so use caution. I would think a T5 or R ECU would be ideal with a 15g/16t.
