Stand Alone Question:

Help me out guys, is there any US built cheap EMS´s out there for 5 cyl? Possible to buy a "ready to use" MS?

Will use the distributor and ignition from 850.

The thing is this, a kid bought my old engine and are mounting it in a 242 with BMW tranny.

We need some sort of EMS but he can´t afford Nira or other 1500 USD EMS´s.

Thanks guys!

1500 is a cheap EMS. Gems is 3kish, Pectel is 4-6k, everything I can think of is over 1500. Do you NEED ignition, injection and datastream? If you dont need a datastream you can go with 034EFI. Look for the nearest box of cracker-jacks and check the bottom

Yeah, 1500 is cheap for us but not for a 17 year old student without a job. ;) We need to buy something cheapcheap.

I need a basic EMS without logging and ignition, our best bet right now is a stock 4.3 but faster to wire a stand alone and easier to do custom maps.

Mike

Get in contact with Doug Kauer in regard to the new second gen Civinco.

From what I understand it's the ish.

Bert/azinwa

I live 40 minutes from Civinco but it´s to expensive for this car. Close to Nira price over here.

For the last time, no ignition needed. :P

Tell me more about MS, tried it on 5 cyl? Price?

/Mike

i personally haven't tried it on a 5 cyl, i know it'll be batch fire, but it'll work. i've worked with pats 240/ms1 and it's incredibly easy and fun to tune.

megasquirt is a really cheap (pricewise 300 for ms1, 500 for ms2) standalone that turbobrickers love to use for 4 cylinders.
