Does the Sachs Touring have "stock 850 shock" spec´s or the OEM chassi kit spec´s?

Cause Volvo´s OEM sport shocks are good, also made by Sachs.

Had a V70 OEM "Sport kit" on my former V70T5 GT and it was dramatic, horrible, the biggest bogus I have ever driven.

Better would have been to ship a few solid rods to replace the shocks.

Let me just say that I haven't given Weitec themselves a chance to respond to this: it may be the case that the internals are modified. But even if they are they're not doing themselves favours by leaving the original OEM part numbers on there. I call it a scam 1) to get your attention and 2) to point out that if the struts are OEM - which hasn't been contested by Greg - then anyone buying this kit certainly in the UK is paying a premium of around £150 just for a box.

And for £150 more I'd expect manufactured shocks, not just modded ones. Remember for less $100 you can buy FK, and for a few $$ more buy Koni FSD and Eibach (at least over here in sunny england with our strong pound).

Either way now anyone searching for info on Weitec will at least have this info, which after doing a moderate amount myself managed to miss.

You can´t compare them to real stuff, still a OEM kit. :D

Most street drivers like them, probably cause the price is right, half price compared to yellow Koni´s and H&R.

Edit: Just saw GT, you mean a V70N? Damn, they really suck. You could get that kit factory mounted. The 850 kit you buy now is MUCH better.

I'm just saying, just b/c it's the same looking and an OEM brand doesn't mean it's a scam, but it's a kit, right? Different valving from stock possibly. I for one am extremily happy with the results of the kit on my car as a daily driver on the aweful roads I have here.

When you rebuild a shock you normally remove the sticker. Normally.

It's a big leap of faith to assume the shocks are remanufactured when they leave all the OEM stuff on them. If their website talked about re-engineering then fine. Or if Sachs had anything to do with KW (I don't believe they're owned together) then one would think "ok they simply rehoused some stuff" but to get a box with clearly branded OEM parts and a few springs for good measure... for a lot more money... I'm not that trusting.

I await Weitec to prove me wrong, and if they do great I'm wrong I can live with that (it's not a new experience for me lol). I just don't want to find out later I spent more than I needed to returning my car's handling back to the way it was when it came out the factory (which might have been awesome for all I know) when I had been expecting to purchase a true aftermarket product that changed my handling from the stock setup to something better.

FFS If they'd just painted them another colour I'd have been happy LOL
