Cool. It wud be interesting running a quarter in the 30s and see what kind of difference it makes. My best times were put down when it was 70s with low humidity. How did you hook on a cold track with 205s?

Hah ok. I only managed a 14.4 at 98 mph with my 18T T5M last year... Which is a garbage time for the amount of stuff i have done. I was getting my 60' down in the 2.2/2.3 range so it want terrible driving haha. Im suspecting boost leak or some such. Hopefully on the new car said issue will be no more...

200 lbs won't make a half second difference.

No, but it will make a quarter second difference. I'm happy to eat my words but I'll be surprised if Kevin gets anything below a 13.95

Well, as far as I know no 15g auto has gotten anywhere near those numbers before, and if simply pulling the seats would improve the time so much everyone would be doing it.

Also keep in mind that self tuning has exploded in the last few years, I honestly think my tune is INCREDIBLE and I cannot recommend a tune by Simply Volvo (Matt) enough. I'm curious to see how much of a difference a NA intake manifld with NA TB and 960 throttle plate and 93 NA cams make.

I think ambient temperature had a huge factor in those numbers. Chalk the bulk of the car's performance up to the temperature and the tune. But I still say weight got him under 14 seconds.

200 lbs alone isn't going to do it. Now, if he has cut out other weight, then I agree in combination with the lower air temp.

As for the tune, it isn't magical. You are only going to get some much out of a 15g regardless of who is doing the tune.

  • 3 weeks later...

Some slips I forgot I had..

The left slip/right lane is TurboBricks 1995 850Turbo from a few years back.

SpecialTool.JPG

Mod List
16T
Custom 3" Turbo Back
White Injectors ( I think)
BSR Stage 3
MBC
M56-L Gearbox
Slicks
SRT-4 Cold Air Intake
1997 850 T motor (stock)

*Note* This was not his best time as he also did a 12.9@108 but I only have pics of this one slip because he was running against me in my 944.

get a feel for the launch, don't launch at full boost obviously start at 5psi and work your way up to where you feel comfortable

you can always have thicker axles made
