adaptorman Posted September 5, 2006 Report Share Posted September 5, 2006 1970 beetle thought some of you may or may not like my idea im assumeing im the only guy (u.k) to fit a complete 850 t5 20valve volvo turbo in a 1970 bug?spec as followsive used and fitted the complete engine/5speed m56 manual gearbox and engine cradle has a remaped rica 304 ecustd volvo intercooler fitted into the rear deck lidive a 19t /downpipe,but this takes longer to spool up so ive left the std 15g (tdo4 turbo)used all volvo std 16 alloysrear widerned wings and fitted engine oil cooler in one side and airintake into the otherstd orange injectorsweights 700kg including the engineporshce servono power steering pump /or airconbailey dumpvalve 3foot exhurst 4inch pipe /decattedthis baby is the madist thing ive drove compaired to my mates t5r which feels smooth a nice on moterwaythis bug is nothing like a volvo to drive ,its mad ive only been on old airport fields ,its hardish to drive but soon as you hit the gas the car has a mind of its own just simpley pins you into the seat holding on for shear life,the exhust noise is like you bin in a night club,then changes like a c02 bottle has gone off behind you i can either try drive normal (hard to do)or simply floor the car in each gear (1-4)and tyres start smokeing now i decied to try the std ecu back on which at leat gives you the chance to hold the steering wheel),anyway i thought it would be a good idea to make it road legal (still on going at the moment)ive plenty of resto pics which i maybe to post if anyones instrested Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Anyway cool project I would love to hear some HP numbers and some track times. not to everyones taste i see but just a mad idea to me ,,anyway yearh ive larger vented discs on the front(320mmstd vauxhall solids on the rear,(im going to do it a SICK matt black with crome trim ,before i do a two tone spray on it matey?just get a bit scary when the front pops up in boost mode lol other then that its wickid to drive?(for a bug anyway)cheers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
