I just spent 7 hours typing a 12 page 3900 word paper based on the book Introduction to Christianity for my lower division dogma class.

File away that paper for future reference. As your days on earth start to come to the end, you will go back to that paper and realize that your time spent reading the New Testament was some of the most valuable time that your have ever spent.

I would much rater gone to private school, just not a religous one :)

The only private schools around my house were religious. I went to one for 2 years and absolutely hated it. There are so much better things to learn about in todays world than religion IMO. I can say that the public education, at least in my town, was just as good (if not better) as the private education. Actually, I felt that because the private school tried to cut costs in some areas, they would go through teachers more frequently. Many of those teachers were fresh out of school and didnt have a very good understanding of how to get through to high schoolers. At a public school the teachers generally have an easier time staying there longer and have a good system to teach to the students.

I guess this goes both ways, but I tend to see it more at the public school I attended.

Thank God I did not have to take a religious class in college, just one more thing that could have brought my non Sci GPA down. :P

I disagree that you need to read the New Testament (or Old Testament for others) to consider it the most valuable time but that's my opinion.

Im athiest so religion is of no use to me. And yes my school is a private catholic school. But i would rather come here and look at the amazingly hot chicks and the 2:1 ratio of girls:guys, so the religion class is the only downfall.

And although you are an atheist, it is still important to know a little about religion. It helps out when somebody questions your beliefs. I'm more agnostic then atheist but I still know a decent amount from different religions to support myself.

I'm no priest or rabbi but religion has played a HUGE role in our life time whether you believe in a god or not.

Lol I hope this guys kidding

One the back of the $1 and $5 dollar bills in your wallet has the inscription "In God We Trust". Today is September 28th, 2006 in the year of our Lord (Jesus Christ).

Jesus Christ was a real person, not some fictional character in some fable. He made some outrageous claims that are written about in the New Testament.

Someday, when our life on earth is complete, all of us will meet Him. All I am saying is that it would be a good idea to know a little bit about Him when that time comes.
