Spoony Posted October 19, 2006 Report Share Posted October 19, 2006 The whole point of my post was not to complain about religion but to complain about a huge paper to write where the professor seemed to take 10 min to read over and put an OK on the top of the paper which is 100%. It just happened to be that the class i had to write the paper for was a religion class. So lets stop talking about religion.Did you really think that posting this wouldn't get people involved in the debate over religion? It's a pretty touchy subject coming from both sides.I don't believe in any god and when I see others saying that there is a god who towers over me, I do tend to get irratated. I don't spew my belief on "believers" so I demand the same respect. If you believe in god, more power to ya. I don't believe there is ANY way to prove there is a god.Being dead is another topic. I've had hardcore christians ask me what I'll do when I die. The simple answer is to begin rotting or sit in a jar on a mantel piece.When I attended the jewish day school, I was in a strange situation. I spoke to some of my hebrew teachers there and they insisted that I question religion. They wanted me to continue asking questions about Judaism and why it's so important. I have to admit that inquiring about it gave me a better understanding but not of the religion. I noticed the people who believed in it. The most spiritual people at the school/synagogue were those that had questioned Judaism. They didn't just accept the stories and be done with it. They don't live in fear of what their god can do. Rather, the interpret the stories. Now interpretations can vary from person to person but they all agreed that it makes it harder to believe if you can't open your mind.I began pushing religion away when I HAD to be bar mitzvahed and the school tried forcing me to wear a tallit and tefillin. Some teachers found me to be a "trouble student" because I wouldn't take "just because" as an answer.There is no proof that everything in the old and new testament ever happened. The people who wrote them could have just been trying to benefit themselves.Everything I stated above was just my opinion and I am sharing my opinion. I'm not telling anybody they need to believe in it. Just don't tell me I'm wrong and you're right because you can find somebody else who agrees with you on the internet. What did you find that was not true?Must have been the part about the 'end times' when the nations of the world would despise Israel, set up a peace treaty only to turn on them and wage of war of proportions which none have ever seen. Because a book you read in school tells you what he did. Which dates back to the time period A.D. (After Death of who?) JESUS CHRIST!! Jesus Christ is real. So why do some people believe a school book and not the bible? Because that is what is taught to them everyday, and it is there choice to do so. Why do you believe your name is your name. Because that is what a piece of paper called a birth certifcate says it is. But it still has not been around as long as the BIBLE. But you believe your birth certificate. People wonder and ask why the Lord would allow bad things to happen if he was real. Tha devil makes bad things happen, Jesus is there to comfort when that happens. All you have to do is call his name. People always say that bad things seem to happen alot to Christians. Think about this, the devil is not going to come against his own. The devil is going for the good ones. The ones that do not really have a strong walk with Jesus. If the Big Bang theory is for real, how come no one has reprduced it in a microwave? If it is true, all you gotta do is throw in a liitle dirt, put it on high setting and start it. BANG!!! There is life. NOT! Please by no means, do not take what I am saying in the wrong way. Everyone is entitled to there own opinion. This is mine. I am not bashing anyone, so do not bash me. Even if you do not believe the same as me, I will still treat you the same way way I want to be treated, with respect. I believe the only time you should look down on someone is when you put your hand out to help them up off the ground. If you do not believe in Jesus, that does not make you wrong. It just means you have not had a chance to get to know Jesus. But always remeber, it is YOUR choice. Let me leave you with this. To me Jesus is real. He is the only man who died on this earth and stopped time. That is why we have B.C. (Before Christ) A.D. ( After Death) Everyone, have a great day.
