Who told you that they invested money??

IPD just took software from TME, and TME cars in sweden are not that fast.

so RussB, I would suggest to know the details before starting to bash others

Ilya, real quick, IPD sells MTE software, developed wholly by Marco Asterfalk. His uncle is the founder of TME... And don't think for a minute that Marco doesn't see money from every ECU upgrade that IPD sells.

and remember.. fwiw... my car and wallet bought all the parts that made this whole Stage Kit thing happen... so volvospeed had a big hand in this as well.

I'm sure a few :monkey: 's on VS have spent more than 3K and still didn't get the #'s this kit offers!

Give Scott and his crew a break, after all they started the whole Hot Rod Volvo thing.

Its a pretty good video, its about time that a company has come out with a real performance package for the 850's, like others have said, ive gotten much more performance for a bit less, but for a newcomer to the volvo 850/s70 world, a bolt on kit like this is nice to see.

Does anyone else think that the guy on the vid looks and sounds just like Micheal Showalter from the series "Stella" and the movie "The Baxter?"

but how many peope have the time to get all that stuff, for those prices? not many people outside of volvospeed. Your average 40 year old guy, who knows hotdog about turbo swaps, is gonna see this "kit", and go "effin sweet! all i do is pay, and my car goes way faster"...

TX Heat : When you get older, do you ever slow down? I'm curious if my lead foot will ever be replaced by aluminium?

Well this young whipper-snapper can't afford many performance parts of any sort, heck I'm still meaning to get around to getting my ABS module fixed up.

But while on the topic of IPD's products, wheres the downpipe for the x70/850? In general us Volvo'ers don't seem to have too many parts on one central database. I know there's other places to buy those dirt-cheap $700 downpipe's, but a friend of mine with a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP who seems to have quite a bit of resources for parts.

To name a few,

http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products.php?id=0

http://www.pfyc.com/c/GP/1997-2003+Pontiac...Prix+Store.html

http://www.3800performance.com/index.html

http://www.wbodystore.com/grandprix/

http://www.lmperformance.com/h/12.html

http://www.clubgpstore.com/

http://www.intense-racing.com/

Which seem to offer quite the variety of performance add-ons. Where's the pistons and connecting rods or light-weight rockers? A site with some headers/exhaust manifolds for sale?

Seems like most of the stuff volvo'ers can get are through just a handful of sites mostly put together by small groups of enthusiasts with... no offence intended here, but whatever they have put on their car.

On another note, props to IPD for their ad in motortrend!

I guess its tough because... who hears volvo and thinks performance? (shh you dont count)

Ok so I'm in the 40+ crowd and no I don't know hotdog about a turbo swap, thats why I joined this board so that I would be able to get some good info on these cars.

Yes before I found out about this board I probably would have gone out and bought it. And yes the young people of this world will always try to find a better and faster way of doing things. We do have the experience at doing things and you can teach an old dawg new tricks.

So don't put all of us in the same group

Nothing against you young whippersnapers  for one day you will be 40 something and the 20+ crowd will talk about you the way you are doing now :)

+1 for you Tx Heat...I'm in your age group too....46 here. I won't go out and buy that $3000 bolt on kit either. My family's just normal people if you know what I mean. I have a teenager that costs money. We do have 2 Volvo's but that's because I can afford them if I do most of our maitenance myself. Upgrades happen slowly around here....but they do happen.

i think this entire stage 3 thing is great for us as a community. there are stage kits out there for every car but ours, and now there are. I wouldnt mind spending the loot to get the kit. maybe get the water injection too. yes there are always cheaper and easier ways to do everything. but lets get honost, they did a nice job of putting this together and hopefully it will bring more people into the volvo tuning community.

Why don't they Just call it the 'Teeter Kit' and also give you lessons on how to drive a manual poorly?

But in all seriousness, I think its a cool thing that they came out with and yeah while much of ipds business does not come from us, many of their ideas do and thats what makes this place great. I like the idea of giving pepole who dont know about this site a good option for their car. Me personally, I think I'll be better off with one of the New Atech Intercoolers Doug can get for ~875$ a Rica Chip for 750$ a used 2.5 exhaust for 300-400 and one of CJ's downpipe's (800) (or maybe an entire K&R exhaust instead 800) That should yield the same or better gains for about 500$ less.
