Decker_850TWAGON
Im looking at buying a 84 Diesel 245 5-speed. I know its going to be slow....ok really slow. Im wondering if there are factory parts to use to turbocharge one of these. It is a 6 cylinder. Anyway what i am wondering is if it would have to be all custom or ..... basicly what are my options to turbocharge it?

thelostartof
should be a VW/audi engineand they did make factory turbo ones in the 7 series so i see no reason why you could not swap over stock parts to turbo itnothing new .. more than a few people have pimped out the diesel engines sa they make HUGE torque
CoRalV70
or do what i was planning with a already diesel 240, Cummins 4bt:4cyl-same size as chevy smallblock(also SBC motormounts), in turbo form 105hp/275tq stock, uses chevy trans bolt pattern, easily gains power much like a 6bt 12valve.Ive heard they're capable of putting out 350hp/700+ torque, for less then 1k, its quite possible that you could use the JTR chevy v8 swap kit with a little bit of beafing up, and do some other beefing to the volvo chassis. And have one hell of a black smoke billowing sleeper.

854TGA+
Funny you mention diesel, I see a old 240 diesel every morning on the way into work. Good to see things don't change. Both taillamps blacked out from dirty exhaust, half the lights not working (corroded printed circuits). Noisy as hell! I thought those engine were only good for boat anchors. I remember driving some guys 745TD you couldn't even see the speedo for black dirt. Great cars for people who hate tailgaters, floor it and they disappear in black smoke
